Here at the Writer's Block, you can have all sorts of random small talk that does not justify a thread of its own and doesn't fit into any of the other sections. If you just want to hang out with the fellow users here in the forums, talking about just about anything on your mind, this is the place to be!

You mean the default icon, eh? You can change your profile picture over at creators-haven.boards.net/user/6/avatar , since it is not gravatar you have to directly upload a picture from your computer.

Ah, this is the link for Arrodor's profile. The number in the link, 6, shows that he is the sixth user to register here. You are user #7, so just change the 6 with a 7 and it should work for you. Alternatively just click onto "Edit Profile" on your profile and it will bring you to the same menu, where you can upload and select it as your avatar.

I can change the color of the writing, can't do that at telltale. Look at how big these words are. And now they're small. WOah that's crazy.

Soo, what exactly is the point of following someone? Do you get notifications every time the people you follow post? Just wondering if it's a feature I want to use or not.

Admittedly, I am not entirely certain about it myself. Maybe it does. I get regular notifications whenever someone new joins the forum or when someone likes one of my comments. We can test it though, you follow me and I comment on Arrodor's thread, see what happens.

Ah, I found out what it does! Look at this part of your profile: creators-haven.boards.net/user/4/followingApparently, following a user displays their activity in that section on your profile, allowing you to easier stay up to date what every user is doing. Apparently, I am automatically updated about anyone's activity thanks to mystical admin powers, but it could be a useful feature for the rest.

Can we talk about how awesome House Dayne is for a few moments? Where the heck did the Daynes come anyway? They are so different from the rest of the First Men (in terms of looks)

According to most sources they were around even before the first men. To the DAWN of days.
EDIT: Toned down the signature because the other was way to big lol.

Which would make them the first humans on Westeros. I wonder if they share ancestry with the Valyrians. And man, now I feel the need to add a signature

I like to think they were chilling in the mountains of Dorne while the Valyrians chilled on the other continent. Dayne's just didn't get Dragons.

I actually believe Martin himself once confirmed that the Daynes don't have Valyrian ancestry. He kinda implies they just have the look, but I believe there must be more to that. Maybe they don't have Valyrian ancestry, but share a common progenitor. Also, sweet signature, chaosjester! I really must think of a good one myself now

This might cost me literally everything, but I don't think Comic Sans is half bad. There's definitely some worse fonts. Side note: The smileys on these forums are giving me major nostalgia and I'm definitely here for it.

Maaan, I went to sign up here with my usual email and proboards told me my account was already registered. I have no memory of being on proboards. I don't think I want to know where my thirteen year old self was lurking.

aaaaaaand I just remembered that time I signed up for a fantasy roleplay proboard back in middle school and convinced them to put the ghostbusters theme on their autoplay for like a month. that explains the whole email thing.
Guess we're both goin' to cringeville today. 8|

A new day, a new feature I have not discovered yet! Seems like we have quite a number to choose from, paired with tons of colours and different font sizes, this is honestly great. Also, let me test it, what is this doing? Or this?Seeing how this standard forum has so many comfort features the Telltale forums didn't have (but apparently once had before they made the change to threaded conversations some time in, I think, 2012), I really have to wonder what reason that lazy hack Bruner the web team had not to implement them in the threaded style, or not to reimplement them when they went back to linear. Makes me wonder, maybe the tons of custom code they had to write to create the unique-looking threaded style (which I, admittedly, still miss) came at the cost of permanently messing up some functions even after they went back to linear. A web team member I have spoken to after they went back to linear last year implied that the threaded forums, at the end of their life cycle, were seriously messed up behind the scenes and the mods outright confirmed that many of the typical mod tools available were broken in that version. Well, I hope that cannot happen here

Yeah, I've always been a fan of flavour options for forums. my only complaint about this one so far is that it doesn't save your colour choice and you need to find it again every time. Not a big deal by any means, but slightly inconvenient.
