A few days after the destruction of Alderaan
Raymond Branton “Good news, Mira!” Raymond proclaimed excitedly. “I’ve officially closed the deal! Branton C. Industries will be a senior provider of robotic coils and gears for Bak Robotics.” “That’s wonderful news dear.” Mira happily responded. “Now our vacation can properly begin. I’m really interested in exploring this planet and learning more of its history.” Raymond smiled at her and said, “I’m interested as well, although me and my parents have been here plenty of times for business, so I know a little bit.” “No need to rub it in you know,” She said teasingly. Raymond replied, “Before we begin travelling I want to let father know that I have closed the deal.” “Good luck, trying to contact him.” Mira responded a little melancholy, “I haven’t been able to get in touch with my parents these past few days. It’s not like them.” “Don’t worry dear.” Raymond responded with a comforting tone. “I’m sure they are just busy, once they realize how much you’ve called, their sure to get back with you.” He then took out his own holodisk and rang up his father, Irek Branton. The disk just showed static and mixed signals, no hologram could be seen or heard. “It seems that I’m in the same boat as you dear. Although, I’m guessing the reason is because my family may not want to be disturbed on their own vacation. I guess I’ll tell them after our own is done.” After discussing various things, Raymond whispered to his wife seductively, “You know my love the kids are out doing their own things in town right now. We have plenty of time for ourselves.” Mira giggled, “What my dear do you think we should do with this… free time?” “I don’t know.” Raymond said as he unclipped her hair piece letting her long brunette hair fall to her back. He caressed her cheek as he stared into her brown eyes, “I’m sure we’ll think of something.” They both went in and began kissing each other. They then spent the next few hours enjoying each other’s company, in their Bakuran hotel room. Celia Branton Celia was browsing various outfits in the local shopping mall. After a few minutes, her younger brother Gavin came up to her and asked, “Are you almost done? I already got the game I wanted. I’m ready to go.” “Well I’m not.” Celia answered tersely. “You’re just going to have to wait.” “Well hurry up then, I don’t want to be here forever,” Gavin said as he walked away. Celia took a few outfits into the changing room with her. She looked into the mirror as she tried on various outfits. She tried to figure out which outfit most complemented her blue eyes and her long blond hair. She then had an idea, she would consult her cousin Laice. Laice is an expert when it comes to shopping, Celia thought. She then dialed Laice’s number on her holodisk, only static appeared. Hmm… that’s weird. Laice always answers her holodisk, she thought. She then looked down at the time on her holodisk and thought, I guess I should hurry and pick something; we should probably pick up Zane soon. She then finally picked an outfit and left with Gavin. Zakerai “Zane” Branton Zane was taking in the atmosphere of the club. His senses dulled by the drink, in his hand. He stared at the slender female twi'lek dancer as she danced on the stage. Many thoughts ran through his head. He had always been a bit of a rebel in his family. He never liked his birth name of Zakerai and always went by his own self-given nickname of Zane. He knew his parents disagreed with his various choices. He was certain that is the reason his father is grooming Gavin to replace him as head of the company, but Zane never wished for that position anyways. Suddenly the door to the club fiercely swung open. A male alien, Zane wasn’t sure which kind, came in frantically proclaiming various things. “Briad has new information! He believes from his secret sources, that the Empire has destroyed an entire inhabited planet! They used some sort of space station super weapon! He can’t confirm which planet yet, but he has also heard that it’s possible the empire will hunt down survivors from this planet! It’s all true; I’ve heard it all from his secret radio transmissions!” Suddenly storm troopers on their break, within the club, came and escorted him out and took him away. “What a freaking nut,” Zane said silently to himself as he took another sip. No choices this time

A few days later Zane Branton After a long day of traveling to different sights around Bakura, the Branton family arrived back at their hotel. They had just entered the lobby, when the television automatically switched channels to HoloNet News, with a breaking news announcement. The Emperor was going to be giving an unexpected speech. Most, including the Branton family, decided to stay and hear what this was about. On screen, the Emperor could be seen walking out of his palace toward a podium, and he gave the following speech. "I am here today to relay some very distressing and terrible news to my fellow citizens, of the Galaxy. I regret to inform you that our Intelligence has seen satellite images of the planet Alderaan being destroyed. Now, we don’t know all the details, but our early investigation shows that rebellious forces were creating a dangerous superweapon on Alderaan to be used against us. It appears they tested the weapon and it unfortunately resulted in the death of the populace and destruction of the planet. The rebel forces have gone too far this time. Do not fear citizens, we will crush these insurgents, and their Alderaanian genocide will never be forgotten. I will dedicate the day of Alderaan’s destruction as a time of remembrance of Alderaanian people, culture, and history. The planet and its populace will never be forgotten. Any Alderaanian survivors scattered throughout the galaxy is welcome to report to your local authorities and we will find a place resettle you. Right now, I’m preparing a place for this very objective, and I will bring more details when it’s close to being done. Again, I reiterate the solemnness of this event, and wish the survivors offworld a time of healing and recovery. Thank you.” He then took questions from the media.
Everyone, in the lobby, was shocked by the speech the Emperor was giving. Throughout the speech, the Branton’s were anxiously trying to call family members and friends on Alderaan hoping desperately it wasn’t true. However, Zane was not doing that. He was silent, sitting on the couch contemplating what he was hearing. He knew what he was hearing was true. He recalled the night in the bar when the “crazy” alien came in shouting about the empire destroying a planet. “It can’t be true, it can’t be true,” Celia was repeating with bated breaths throughout her sobbing. “Hey, I need to talk to you guys about something important in our room,” Zane said in a hushed tone. Once they all arrived, Zane discussed how he knew that Alderaan was destroyed due to the alien’s proclamation about a planet being destroyed a few days ago, at the club. “I thought he was just some nutjob at the time; so, I didn’t take him seriously.” Gavin interjected, “So this guy was saying that the empire destroyed the planet, but the emperor just said the rebels destroyed it. What do we believe?” Raymond answered, “If Alderaan is really gone, then it would make the most sense that the Empire would blame the rebels to paint a negative picture of them. My father had always discussed how they were the righteous ones. However, I’ll need to see the planet’s rubble myself before I can truly accept that it is gone.” After this, Mira stated her agreement that they would need to travel back to the planet. Zane then mentioned how the alien declared how survivors would be hunted down. “We can’t trust anyone, in the empire. In fact, we don’t know who we can trust.” Raymond then said, “We need to know more about this Briad broadcaster you said the alien was getting his information from. If the news is in fact true, he might be one of the very few news sources we can trust. Also, if the empire is going to hunt down survivors, then due to our family’s background; we’ll need new false identities.” “Umm, I know a guy here,” Zane proclaimed. “You what,” both his parents declared in shock. Zane took everyone to what seemed to be a small photography studio, but he told everyone that the couple who runs it actually makes false Id’s for certain customer’s who give a certain password, on the side. Zane walked up to the woman and gave the password. He then told everyone that she gives the makeover’s and her husband takes the pictures and forges the documents. Mira’s hair was cut and dyed an auburn color. Her new identity was Moira Bronwin. Raymond natural Alderaanian long blond hair was cut and dyed light brown. His new identity was Joseph Bronwin. Gavin had his hair dyed black and had some white streaks put in it, and he went and had his fake name named after his cousin and went by Giles Bronwin. Celia did not want her hair changed and instead just wanted the false name, and Zane already had his fake ID. Celia was now Terra Bronwin and Zane went by his previous fake identity of Zane Bronwin. After they were done, the Branton family of Alderaan was now the Bronwin family of Coruscant. After this the family went to their ship and made their way to Alderaan. They warped there, at light speed. It is then they saw the remains of the planet itself. The planet’s rubble was drifting through space. “No, No!” Mira cried out in a horrified scream, as she began to sob. Raymond stared at the rubble in disbelief. “It’s gone. It’s really all gone.” Gavin had been crying, but he tried to calm down Celia as she seemed to start having a panic attack. Zane had already expected this outcome, and he closed his eyes and turned away from the rubble when they arrived. It is then he had flashes of memories of the rest of his family and friends back on Alderaan. He couldn’t help but tear up and bury his face in his hand. He tried to keep his emotions in check. He didn’t want to be vulnerable. Remember, you’re the strong one, he thought. After a while, when everyone was able to process and accept the reality of the situation. Raymond decided they would return to Bakura and decide what to do from there. Celia Branton Celia felt like a piece of debris floating in the wind walking down the dark Bakuran streets. She didn’t pay any attention to the things her parents and brothers were discussing ahead of her. She felt as if nothing mattered anymore. Soon, they walked passed the club Zane was at a few days earlier and she stopped. “Hey, everyone there is something I got to do while I’m out here. You guys head back to the hotel, and I’ll catch up.” Everyone began to stare at her. Mira retorted, “What are you saying? This is no time to go out and shop or whatever you plan to do.” Raymond concurred, “Yes, I agree with your mother. This is no time for fooling around.” “Dad, Mom, I won’t be out too long I promise! I just need some time to myself.” Zane gave her knowing look. Raymond sighed, “We don’t have time for this.” “Fine, but meet us back at the hotel room in a couple hours and we will tell you what we decided to do,” he conceded. After they went on ahead, she walked strait into the club toward the bartender and asked for the strongest drink he had. It had been an hour, and Celia was no longer in a sober state of mind. It is then that a man with red skin and white hair sat beside her. Some of his hair covered his left eye and a majority of his hair was tied into a long ponytail. He wore an open black vest for a top. It exposed some tattoo on his arm which seemed to get the bartender’s notice. He had grey pants and sandles on. “Mind if I pay for the next drink for you,” he queried. “Sure, do whatever you want,” Celia responded dryly. After he got the drink, the bartender disappeared into the back room. “By the way, what are you,” Celia asked. “What I am is a Zeltron, and my name is Jeridon. What are you,” he responded turning it around on her. Remembering her false identity, she responded, “My name is Terra.” After a few more minutes of discussion he asked, “So, what has you so down in the dumps that your sitting here drinking alone?” Not thinking properly, she responded, “I guess I just had a very bad day. I guess this is just what happens when you find out parts of your family, and all of your friends died when your planet blew up.” Jeridon smirked, “Oh, your Alderaanian then. Tough break about your planet, but I guess no one will miss you then.” “Huh,” Celia stared at him confused. Suddenly, she felt very dizzy. She turned and looked at the drink he had bought her and passed out. Mira Branton Mira was pacing back and forth in the hotel room. She was very worried that Celia had not returned yet. “Raymond, it’s been past a couple hours and she is still not here, and she isn’t picking up our calls. We need to go find her,” she said worriedly. Raymond replied, “I agree but where should we look?” Zane walked in and said, “I think I know where she might be.” He then took his parents to the club he was at from before. They walked in and noticed a holodisk, on the floor, at the bar. The bartender looked at them and said, “It’s almost closing time. We aren’t serving anything else.” Mira walked up to him and told him that they were looking for someone and asked if he had seen a young blond woman here recently. The bartender seemed to get nervous, “There are young blond women here all the time.” Raymond then looked up at his wife and said, “This is definitely her holodisk.” Zane then came to the bar table and slammed his fist into it right in front of the bartender and said, “spill it.” The bartender then looked nervously at them and said, “Please, you can’t tell anyone I told you this or they will kill me.” “Who will,” Raymond asked. The bartender responded anxiously, “I saw a member of the Black Sun come and chat her up. I suspect he took her.” “Black Sun, the crime syndicate!” Zane yelled. Mira felt as if her world was crashing all over again after hearing this. She began to breath heavily. Raymond then said, “If they really do have her; then we are going to need some help rescuing her. We should seek out the Rebel Alliance for their help to rescue her. I’m sure they will help.” “No, screw that!” Zane yelled. “If they have her, we need to find and rescue her right away. Who knows what their doing to her now?” Raymond retorted, “How are we going to rescue her from a crime syndicate by ourselves? Mira, talk some sense into him. Mira was deep in thought. They have my daughter. I will do whatever is necessary to save her.

[Seek help from the Rebel Alliance] Seems like the more interesting option here. And ah, looks like the crime syndicates will play a role in the story, very interesting.

[Seek help from the Rebel Alliance.]
Definitely the better option in the end. Wouldn't want Mira to be taken too, after all.

[Seek help from the Rebel Alliance]Rebel alliance sounds perfect to me, it definitely seems like the safer option. Also, I genuinely enjoy the story so far, good job on the last two parts

Ah, when you messaged me about having a new part out I thought I'd best give this a look for my love of Star Wars, and boy am I glad I did. This may be short so far, but boy is it fruity with lore and character development! If I know anything, it's that the Black Sun are some real mean gangsters that aren't the type to consider negotiations with anything else but a blaster. If they have Celia then I fear the worst, and I believe that the family are going to need all the help they can get with getting her back. That being said, I'm not sure the Rebel alliance is the best way to go. At the stage of a New Hope, the Rebels aren't exactly a menacing opposition that has the power to defeat the Empire, but rather a group of cells with differing methods and ideals with how to strike against the empire. Depending on which cell the family would go to or what that cell's methods would be might not work in their favour, and time is ticking. I think I'd prefer to have settled this privately, perhaps sorting out a deal with a bounty hunter with the credits settled from the earlier deal, not like those funds are going to go into Alderaan estate mortgage or anything. However given the sway of the votes I think I'll stick with the mainstream and vote to seek help from the rebel alliance. I am pro-empire and that makes me biased, but I hope this is the best choice. Also what a great premise for a story! I never thought of the remaining Alderaanian's except for Leia really. I'm looking forward to the next part! <iframe width="10.199999999999989" height="7.319999999999993" style="position: absolute; width: 10.199999999999989px; height: 7.319999999999993px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none;left: 5px; top: 5px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_18962710" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="10.199999999999989" height="7.319999999999993" style="position: absolute; width: 10.2px; height: 7.32px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 453px; top: 5px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_36128576" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="10.199999999999989" height="7.319999999999993" style="position: absolute; width: 10.2px; height: 7.32px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 5px; top: 313px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_53038023" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="10.199999999999989" height="7.319999999999993" style="position: absolute; width: 10.2px; height: 7.32px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 453px; top: 313px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_5901096" scrolling="no"></iframe> PS. The voting is closed. The Branton's will seek help from the rebel alliance to rescue Celia. An expected yet interesting choice. We'll see how that goes later.

Raymond Branton Mira took a short breath before answering, “I believe your father is right, we can’t go after her alone. We need some support.” Zane reacted the way Raymond believed his son would. “We don’t have time to look for help from rebels, who might be light years away from here!” Zane exclaimed. “For all we know, she could still be on this planet. Heck, she may still be, in the city.” Raymond put his hand on Zane’s shoulder, “Even if that is the case, we still can’t rescue her without any backup. The Black Sun is very dangerous, if we try to rescue her alone, we may not only put her but all of us in danger. I don’t want to lose any more of my family today.” “Whatever,” Zane remarked bitterly. “Might as well look for some rebel sympathizers. By the way, what do we do about the bartender?” The bartender looked frightened, “You guys don’t have to worry about me. I don’t want any trouble. I just want to put all this behind me and get back to business.” With that, they left the bar and went out into the dark city. “Where should we look to find rebel sympathizers?” Mira inquired. Raymond put his hand to his chin and spoke, “I believe if we find out where that one alien heard about this Briad’s transmissions. We could probably find sympathizers there.” Zane responded, “We should definitely look, in the electronic district.” After traveling for a little bit, they made it to the electronic district where they saw a nervous looking twileki man hiding behind a dumpster. He seemed to be trying to stay out of sight from some stormtroopers out on patrol near him. After they rounded a corner, he bolted down the alley and knocked three times on a door on the side of the wall. The door soon opened, and he went in. Raymond, Mira, and Zane soon followed suit and knocked three times, on the same door, without being seen. Soon the door was opened, and a big stout man was the one who was holding it. He had a blaster by his side, and a badge that said Gizmo Security. “You guys are new,” he said with a piercing gaze that could be felt through his sunglasses. They then went inside, and there were many others crowded into the room. The room appeared to have some signs for promotional deals stacked against the walls. It seemed this room was originally supposed to be used as storage for the larger store, which appeared to be Gizmo. There were people gathered around a man who seemed to be fiddling with a computer monitor, near the back of the room. The man appeared to be burly and middle-aged. The most striking thing about the man is that his right arm and eye were robotic. There were burn scars around the areas where the robotic parts were installed. The man was a cyborg. He seemed to be trying to strengthen some type of signal. The Branton’s walked up to the man and Raymond asked, “Is this were we can hear the radio transmissions from Briad?” “Oh, you guys must be new around these parts,” the man said in a gruff voice. “How did you find out about this place?” Zane chimed in, “We heard about this place from a friend.” “Hmm, I see…,” the man said as he rubbed his chin with his robotic hand. “Well, to answer your question, yes this is the only place in town where you can hear the transmissions. Only me and a few others around here can decode and strengthen the Briad signals. The name is Kyle Webenix, by the way.” As he said this, he seemed to finish boosting the signal, and the signal seemed to come in a little distorted but then it became clear. Everyone then stopped talking and listened to the broadcast. “Now, to the most important news regarding our struggle with the empire. Very recently, the rebel alliance has dealt a crushing blow to the empire. It seems that a battle ensued between rebel and imperial forces near the moons of Yavin. This battle concluded with a striking rebel victory. It appears the rebel forces were able too destroy the superweapon battle station used to destroy the planet of Alderaan. My sources tell me that this superweapon was known as the Death Star. Make no mistake about it, this was a huge victory. “Speaking of Alderaan, my sources tell me the empire is still trying to track down survivors. If you are an alderaniaan listening to this broadcast, I urge you to be very careful. However, some of my sources have also told me that the surviving alderaniaan princess and rebel leader Leia is mounting a rescue operation to save groups of scattered alderaniaan survivors. If any are listening to this broadcast, you may want to find her, and she can help bring you to a safe refuge. Some of my sources say, she has already saved many and she is currently with them stationed near the planet of Espirion. With this, I conclude today’s broadcast. Briad signing off.” After the broadcast, the people gathered began discussing what they had just heard. Some were complaining about how much they missed and how short today’s broadcast was. After hearing the Broadcast, Raymond stated, “That settles it, we’ll travel to Espirion to seek the aid of the princess.” Kyle looked at them with a somewhat confused expression, “Are you guys some of the scattered alderaanians mentioned, in the broadcast?” Mira replied confidingly, “It is true that we are alderaanians, but that is not the sole reason we seek her aid. Our daughter, as she gestured to herself and Raymond, has been captured by the Black Sun. We need her help to rescue our daughter.” “Do we even have the coordinates for Espirion?” Zane questioned. “I do,” Kyle replied. “You people seem like decent enough people and your cause is very noble. I will travel with you and see to it that your family is reunited. I will also give you guys a copy of the coordinates.” “Oh, you don’t have to do all this for us,” Raymond replied. Kyle responded, “Think nothing of it, I want to help.” With that, the group left and went to the hotel too explain the situation too Gavin. After they arrived back to the hotel room, Gavin had a lot of questions. Raymond cautiously approached Gavin and put his hand on his shoulder, “Gavin I have something very important to tell you. Your sister has been kidnapped by the criminal organization known as the Black Sun. This is Kyle Webenix, as he gestured toward him, he is going to help us find her. We are going to Espirion to ask for assistance from Princess Leia to help give us back up to save Celia.” Gavin could hardly process the things being told to him. “Wait, Celia’s been kidnapped!” “How could this have possibly happened?” “It’s a long story,” Zayne said bleakly. Panicked, Gavin shouted, “We have to go now.” Raymond replied, “That’s what we are doing.” With that, they left the planet of Bakura. After exiting hyperspace after a minute, the Branton’s and Kyle’s ships began to approach the planet of Espirion. It is then that they noticed the flotilla of Alderaniaan spaceships above the planet. “She must be in the largest one, in the center, Mira said as she pointed at it. Soon both ships stalled close as they reached it and they were let inside. They were soon greeted by a woman with blond hair and amber eyes. She was wearing an x-wing pilot suit. She began by introducing herself, “Hello, my name is Evaan Verlaine. You guys must be some new Alderaniaan refugees. You’ve come to the right place; we have plenty of accommodations for you and you will be safe here.” Raymond then interrupted her saying, “It is true we are from Alderaan, but we have come here because we have urgent business with the Princess. Evaan seemed to be taken aback by this, “Excuse me, but we don’t let just anyone come waltz in here and demand to speak with the Princess!” “Please, you don’t understand. It is very important,” Mira pleaded. Raymond interjected, “It concerns the rescue of an alderaniaan, in great danger. Evaan seemed to be in deep contemplation for a moment. At first, she suggested she relay the message, but the Branton’s insisted they speak with her. “Fine, she said. “However, I’m going to check and make sure you have no weapons on you first. As she said this, she seemed to be eyeing Kyle. He picked up on this and said, “No need to worry about me; I’m just going to wait for them outside her door. They’re the ones that has the business with her, not me.” After she checked them for weapons, she led them to Leia’s office. She explained to her that she had visitors with urgent business. After this, Evaan let them in and she left. As soon on they came into her office, Leia spun around in her chair to see them. She was in her white suit with her white cloak. Her brunette hair was pulled into a single bun. As soon as they saw her, the Branton’s (except Zane) bowed their heads in respect. After she gestured for them to rise, Raymond began speaking, “Your majesty, we humbly ask for your assistance.” At this Zane rolled his eyes and he began to speak. “Look our sister, as he gestured to him and Gavin, and their daughter as he gestured to his parents has been kidnapped, by the crime syndicate Black Sun. We need you to help by sending rebel forces to aid us in rescuing her.” Mira looked horrified and berated Zane for speaking to the princess, in that manor. “It is all right, I’m not really a princess over much these days anyways,” Leia responded solemnly. “As for your request, I’m afraid I can’t send any rebels to aid in your cause.” The Branton’s demeanor completely changed to that of shock. “Why the varp can’t you help us!” Zane yelled angrily. Leia looked taken aback for a second, for she was not used to being cursed at in alderaniaan. Raymond then began to speak in a panicked manner, “I don’t understand, why can’t you help? You are already helping these other alderaniaans. Why can’t you spare anyone to help save our daughter?” Leia responded solemnly, “I understand your plight, but I can’t spare any rebel fighters to fight against the crime syndicates. When I set out to rescue alderaniaans, it was too rescue groups and colonies of them from solely the threat of the empire. That’s why once I set up this Alderiniaan flotilla above Espirion it was so individual groups of Alderaniaan survivors could come here once we got the word out to them in various ways. To tell you the truth, I can’t go rescuing anymore people right now. The rebellion needs me, and I must travel back to them soon.” Raymond responded, “We’re not asking you to put yourself in danger; we just want rebel fighters to help us rescue her!” “I’m not the only one invaluable to the rebellion,” Leia retorted. “These fighters are needed to take the empire down, and I can’t afford to lose any fighting the crime syndicate’s to solely rescue one Alderaniaan girl. Plus, the rebellion can’t afford to make an enemy of any of the crime syndicate’s when all our aim and resources should be used to solely bring down the empire and restore the Republic.” At this, Zane pointed at her and furiously yelled, “Your just one giant hypocrite!” He then looked at his family and yelled, “This was just a massive waste of time! We should have just looked for her immediately like I said! These rebels only care about themselves and their interests! That’s it, I’m out of here!” With that Zane stormed out of Leia’s office in a fury. The rest of the Branton family looked very grave. Leia cleared her throat,” I never said I was going to leave you emptyhanded.” The family looked up at her with an inquisitive gaze. “While that boy was going on that rant of his, I was downloading a list of planets with heavy Black Sun activity.” “Here,” she handed Raymond the drive. “You can download it on your holodisk and send it to anyone who helps you.” Raymond responded a little somberly, “Thank you, it’s better than nothing.” With that, they left Leia’s office. Gavin looked at his parents when they were in the hallway. “Which planet are we going to search first?” he asked. Mira looked at her son and put her hand on his shoulder. She then said, “Actually Gavin, I want you to stay here until we rescue Celia.” Gavin pulled away from her and defiantly responded, “What, no, she’s my sister and I’m going to help you guys bring her back!” Mira grabbed her son and pulled him into a tight embrace as she began to weep. “Please son, stay here! I can’t bear for anything else to happen to any of my children.” After a moment, Gavin finally relented and agreed to stay there until they brought Celia back. Raymond then looked at his son and said, “Don’t worry we will all be together soon. Now to find your brother and Kyle.” They all walked to the area were their ships could be seen out the window, thinking that they may be there. To their shock, and surprise they noticed Kyle’s ship was gone. Raymond immediately called Zane, on his holodisk. “Zane, where are you?” Raymond questioned. “Me and Kyle left to go search for her on our own.” “You did what!” both Raymond and Mira said in unison. He retorted, “It’s obvious you guys are going to slow us down.” Mira began to plead with him, “Please, come back. Leia gave us a list of planets with heavy Black Sun activity. We can still find her.” “Oh, isn’t that nice of her,” he responded sarcastically. “Just send me a copy of the info. We’re going to check Bakura first anyways to see if it’s possible she is still on the planet, like we should have done in the first place.” Raymond took the holodisk from her and commanded, “Zane come back this instant. We can do this together.” “I’m sorry father,” he responded dryly. “I’ve already made up my mind, and there is no changing it now.” With this, he hung up. No attempts to call him back would work. “I’m sorry to say this,” Raymond said looking at his wife fearfully. “We have to press on separated for now.” After saying their goodbye’s to Gavin, they entered their ship and began flying away, from the planet and flotilla. Mira asked her husband, “Which planet should we check first?” Raymond looked over the list of planets. “The underworld in Coruscant may have valuable information, but the criminal haven of Socorro might, at this point, be a good candidate for her location.” After thinking over these two options, he decided. [Search Coruscant] [Search Socorro]

Ah another part, excellent! Reading through this just gave the sense of how distraught the family is becoming, and it's understandable from each viewpoint as to why their perspectives aren't aligning.
As for the vote, another difficult one with no real good choice. Both are dangerous for similar reasons. Socorro is a criminal haven, the underground of Coruscant also holds that reputation, and not to forget that Coruscant is also the home planet to the Empire. I'm not confident with the galaxy map enough to know where Socorro and Coruscant are in relation to Bakura, and so I'm unaware as to the assumption of why Socorro would be more of a likely candidate than Coruscant. After all, the Black Sun could just hand her over to the Empire in Coruscant and likely gain a nice reward. I suppose if the Black Sun wishes to use Celia for their own gains then [searching Socorro] is the way to go, and who knows, they might just cross paths with Zane and Kyle again. Sure as hell can't be any worse than Coruscant though, I hope XD

I'm glad your liking the story so far Stigz. By the way, (fun fact) in case you didn't know, Leia's mission to save the alderaniaans, the Alderaniaan Flotilla above Espirion, and the character of Evaan Verlaine are all canon material that I found when researching for this story.

Now this is awesome! I really enjoyed your H&L parts for Nymeria's War so I am definitely glad to see you writing a story of your own! Admittedly I don't know anything about Star Wars which made me hesitant to comment but I think I can figure it out. As far as the choice goes, I think I will go with the others and vote to [Search Socorro] here.

Speed's your most valuable motive when saving a kidnapped person, so I'm gonna have to go with [Search Socorro] as well.

I actually considered myself to be fairly decent when it comes to Star Wars lore, but I have to admit, that is the first time I hear about Socorro, even though it doesn't even seem to be all that obscure according to the wiki. I like that, that we don't just get to see places that have been done to death in other Star Wars media (Coruscant, for example), but also these lesser featured planets, so I definitely stand behind this choice.

Voting is closed, Raymond & Mira will search the planet Socorro to check if Celia has been taken there. Next time we will see how that goes. However, until then, how about we have a discussion question until that part is ready. The question is, was Leia wrong for denying them rebel assistance in searching for Celia? Some may say she was being hypocritical because she helped save all these other groups of alderaniaans. Also, did Zane have a justified reaction or was he wrong to focus his anger on her?

After almost a year. I have decided to bring you the next part. Here is your quarantine gift. I'll try to get these out sooner. Right now I have more time, but I'm not sure how long I will.

Zane Branton “So, where should we look first?” Zane asked as they descended to the planet. “We first to need to head to my store. Gizmo has the equipment that I’m going to need,” Kyle explained. They both made it to the shop and the shops security guard seemed startled when they entered the ‘Storage room.’ “Kyle! What are doing bringing someone in here? It’s not time for another Briad transmission,” exclaimed the bewildered guard. Kyle explained, “I know Van, but I have decided to help this young man locate his missing sister.” This justification seemed to calm down the guard. Kyle began to mess around with the computer. His electronic eye seemed to be scanning various codes, and his robotic arm seemed to be typing just as fast as he was scanning. “What exactly are you doing?” asked Zane. “I’m hacking the city mainframe to find security cam footage of where exactly your sister was taken.” “You can do that! Why didn’t you do this before we left on a pointless detour to talk to my people’s so-called Princess!” Zane shouted in frustration. “Calm yourself boy, your family was in a hurry to seek help from the rebellion. What I’m doing here takes time. Time you guys did not want to waste; plus, I figured the rebellion would have been more helpful than they were.” Zane sighed and looked away and just silently said, “Whatever.” It had been several hours since Kyle began his hacking. He asked his security guard Van to man the shop while this was going on. Eventually, Kyle said he was done. Zane awoke from his nap and jumped up and hurriedly made his way to the computer. Kyle began shifted through security cam footage from the day before. He stopped on footage watch recorded the bar in which Celia was last seen. They reviewed the footage seeing when Celia entered. Not to long after that they noticed a red skinned alien with long white hair bring the unconscious Celia to the back of a cargo speeder and tossed her in. Zane concentrated on the man and yelled out, “That sleemo is dead! Whenever I get my hands on him, he’ll regret the day he was born!” Kyle calmed him down, explained that the man was a zeltron, and described how gangs have been known to use their pheromonal powers to target women and in some cases use the female zeltrons to get info on either targets or rivals. They both studied the street cams footage to see where they went. They footage showed that they arrived at the loading dock, and that the man showed the custom agent his arm tattoo. After this the footage showed the nervous and scared looks on his face and he let him through. Kyle also reviewed earlier footage of the docks that showed that when he first arrived the same thing occurred with a different agent as well. After he went into the loading docks he loaded his cargo speeder into his cargo ship. Afterwhich, he went in and the ship left the atmosphere leaving the planet behind. “That’s it, we need to interrogate those custom agents at the docks,” Zane exclaimed. We need to find out where he came from and where he went.” Unfortunately, that would be a big waste of time,” explained Kyle. “You saw the footage, they saw who he worked for and they let him in and out without question.” “I’m certain that we won’t be getting any useful information from them.” Zane groaned, “Your probably right but now where does this leave us?” “We do have one clue,” said Kyle. “They are definitely not on this planet anymore. Otherwise the ship would not have left the planet’s atmosphere when it travelled.” “How does that help us! We still have an entire galaxy to search!” Kyle calmly explained that ruling out an entire planet; especially the one in which she was taken was a good first step. Kyle gently put his robotic arm on Zane’s shoulder and said, “ Son, I’ve decided that I’m going to go with you to help you rescue your sister.” Zane looked taken aback, “ I really appreciate this and could really use someone with your skills, but what about your life here, your business. I mean you decode the Briad signal and bring it to the people here.” Kyle chuckled a bit. “Don’t worry I have people here who can take care of these things for me.” “Alright then, as long as you don’t get homesick and leave me.” Kyle laughed, and then he relayed his plans to his security officer. After which Zane reviewed the copy of the lists of planets with Black Sun activity that his parents sent, and they eventually made their decision for a destination. Mira Branton Mira made her way down the dusty Soccoron street during the early morning hours. The wind blew her cloak all around. She gripped her newly acquired blaster and her cloak making sure to keep her hood up and her head down. She approached the bar where she was told he would be. She entered and warily looked around at the various goons until she saw a lone man at a back corner of the bar with a section to himself. She quickly approached the man and sat across from him. The man has been laying back with his arms behind his head and his legs stretched out and crossed on the table. The man had messy dark brown hair and grey eyes. He seemed to have a bit of a muscular build, and he appeared much younger than what she had expected. “Are you the famous bounty hunter from around this area?” Mira asked nervously. “Depends, who’s askin,” said the man. Remembering her fake identity Mira smoothly told him, “My name is Moira Bronwin, I was told I could find a bounty hunter around these parts.” The man looked up at her, decided to sit normally in his chair and said, “You found him. The name is Jace Corso. What do you want?” “I have a job for you. My daughter, Terra Bronwin, has been captured by the criminal organization known as the Black Sun. I’m sure you have heard of them. I need you to bring her back safely to me here.” Jace just seemed to stare at her for a little bit, and it started to make her even more nervous. “That is a mighty big job. How much you willin to pay for this little endeavor?” Mira began fiddling with things in her cloak and pockets and pulled out 5,000 credits. “I’m willing to pay you 10,000 credits. I will give 5,000 before the job to prove I can pay and I| will transfer you 5,000 credits after the job is done.” “Sorry lady, but 10,000 is not enough for a job like this. Do you not understand what your askin me to do?” Mira began to panic, and her voice began to falter. “Fine I’ll double it and pay 20,000 credits if you help bring my daughter back to me. I’ll give you 10,000 now, and 10,000 after. Just please, bring my daughter back to me. Please.” Jace stared at her and laid back again and sighed. “Fine, I can see how desperate you are. Despite what some may say, I’m no monster. You have yourself a deal.” Mira thanked him and paid the first half of the payment. She had brought a little over 12,000 credits in case he raised the price. She also transferred over a copy of Celia’s fake ID to him. Then Mira quickly left with her remaining credits and went back to the inn where she and Raymond were staying. Mira returned to the inn where she was met with a big hug from Raymond. Raymond seemed to be very relieved, since it was obvious that he has been worried and stressed. “Where were you honey? I was scared something terrible had happened.” “You know going out around here by yourself is dangerous.” “Don’t worry Raymond, I think I might have just helped us get our daughter back. Although, you might not like how I did it.” What do you mean,” Raymond asked apprehensively? “ I got in touch with a bounty hunter and hired him to safely retrieve Celia and bring her back to us.” “You did what!” Raymond shouted. “How much did you pay him?” “See, I knew you would react like this. I gave him 10,000 credits and agreed to give him 10,000 more when the job is done.” “Mira, that only leaves us with four thousand credits!” “Your worried about the money?” “There is no price too high for our daughter’s safety!” “Mira, your forgetting we can’t transfer him the rest of the money from our account. The bank of Alderaan is gone! Our assets are gone! The company’s assets are gone! We are no longer wealthy! I mean we are effectively homeless now, and we only brought enough credits for our business strip in Bakura! Which you just squandered!” Mira interjected, “Squandered! Are you serious? I did this for our daughter. I did this for us!” “For us? Mira, we don’t have enough money for us to live; let alone pay the rest of your debt to this bounty hunter.” Mira then said, “Don’t worry I can fix this. We have time to make up the rest of the debt.” Raymond stared at her with a contempt look on his face. He then told her, “You have done enough damage. I will make up the rest of the money somehow.” Then he slammed the door as he left the room. Mira just stayed on the bed and wept. Celia Branton Celia smelt a terrible odor as she awoke. “Look she’s finally waking up,” said a female voice. After she rubbed her eyes, she noticed the dusty ground and the bars in front of her. She quickly got up and noticed women in what can only be described as a big prison cell with her. Some were chained to the wall others were not. Celia could feel herself panicking. She began to hyperventilate, and a Twileki woman come up to her and said, “Calm down, panicking isn’t going to help.” Celia pushed this woman away and grabbed onto the jail bars and tried to shake them. Celia could feel thoughts racing through her head. What’s going on? Where am I? Who are these people? Is there an exit? Celia was confused, scared, and didn’t know what to do. It's crazy how quickly time flies, I can't believe a year has already gone between this part and the last! Certainly couldn't have started back up at a better time though, with the finale of the Clone Wars having aired last week, there's a hole in my heart and a thirst for more Star Wars content to fill it, so I thank you for returning when you did! Man, these Alderaanians have it tough, losing their home and their daughter, and now all the added problems on top of that again, you really capture the stress of the situation well! Zane is building allies, Mira and Raymond were faced with a hard decision of family vs finance, and I dread what Raymond might have to do to make up those credits for that debt. I'm eager to find out though! Interestingly enough, the name Jace Corso sounds very familiar, but I can't see any canon on him from my quick search. Perhaps it's just the blend of Jace Malcom and Corso Riggs from SWTOR that I'm thinking of Onto the choice, this is an interesting setting that Celia's finds herself in. Bars instead of ray shields, and actual chains... I'm thinking she may indeed be on Sorroco, or at least another planet of that kind. I'd expect the Black Sun on Coruscant to have access to better captive tech than what has been displayed here. So with that in mind, it's likely that it is escapable, but at what cost? I think it would be wiser for Celia to talk to one of the women, and get a better guage of the situation. I'm sure some of them would have tried escaping, and perhaps forming an alliance behind the bars would be better than not. Great part!

It's back! It's been a year, I've missed the story and naturally, I'm super happy you've returned to writing this. I'd even say it was my favourite part to date. Safe to say, I don't regret our previous decision of heading to Socorro. Mira's part was especially nice here, I enjoyed the argument between her and Raymond. Though I'm fully on her side in this situation, Raymond did bring up some valid points as well. I could see this driving a rift between them though and not just in the long term, but quite soon already.
[Talk to one of the women]
Yeah, let's talk first. These women seem to be imprisoned with Celia and I guess it's pretty clear they know more of the situation. Just blindly trying to escape won't help and could, at worst, cause more harm than good. So, first she should talk, get a better idea of what's going on.
