Opening note: I wanted to share my version of what would happen if the revolution succeeded.
The clouds got thicker as the day went by. Thicker and darker. Which fit their mood, incidentally. It was all a matter of waiting. One long waiting game. Their hearts were filled by anticipation and hope. Hope that people would come and aid them.
In a different universe, that hope might have failed. All of them would have died while knowing that they failed to achieve what their hearts yearned for. But not in this one. In this one, their hope proved to not be in vain.
It began slowly at first. Just a mere trickle of water. But as more and more people gathered courage, their strength grew and grew. Until they became a powerful deluge, driven by their passion and the convictions in all of their hearts, until their collective voice became impossible to ignore. Many people stood there, an implacable war of bodies. The opposition couldn't defeat them, for their numbers now were too large to ever be defeated.
They had won on that day, and their triumph would be recorded for everyone to read. To read and remember their victory. To know that their goal was noble and just, and thus the God himself granted them victory.
