Moonwisp: Part 1
Percy Ronan
Percy awoke to find himself within a forest. It was a forest he had familiarised himself with over the years. Unlike the forests of Moonwisp, it was a pleasant and beautiful one, filled with tall trees and singing birds. With the exception of the Elven kingdom and the Fairy Gardens, all of the forests in Moonwisp were places of darkness and danger, infested with goblins, orcs, and other hostile creatures. Percy sighed. If he was here then it meant that The Exile had another task for him.
Percy decided to take a stroll and search for where The Exile was waiting for him this time. He soon discovered The Exile standing on top of a hill, looking down at the wilderness before him.
The Exile was a mysterious, hooded entity that Percy had first encountered during his youth. The Exile had revealed to Percy that he had magical powers, and taught him how to control his powers and to stay away from the dark arts, only teaching him a few jinxes and curses to deal with the worst supernatural beings. Percy bowed before the divine entity.
“What do you wish of me my lord?” Percy inquired.
The Exile did not turn around to face Percy, he only kept his gaze upon the forest below.
“A great evil is coming Percival, I have sensed it” The Exile spoke in his mystical, enchanting voice. “It threatens not only the people of Moonwisp, but humanity as well.”
“What can I do to stop this evil?” Percy asked.
“Assist those who require your help” The Exile answered.
“Is that it?” Percy asked.
“You are perhaps the most powerful sorcerer Moonwisp has, only you and one other can stand against this evil” The Exile spoke.
“Who is the other one?” Percy inquired.
“I do not know who it is, only what it is” The Exile explained.
“And what is it?” Percy asked.
“The Wildheart” The Exile replied.
“The Wildheart?” Percy scoffed. “That’s just an urban legend, a story those anti-human supernaturals believe because they can’t accept Moonwisp being in human control.”
The Exile said nothing.
“Ugh, this isn’t about what Mothman said about that stupid prophecy?” Percy sighed. “The Wildheart battling The Dark One for the fate of humanity, it’s all just hogwash, The Dark One is dead and Mothman is a bug-eyed fool.”
“Remember who you are speaking to, boy” The Exile hissed.
“My apologies” Percy shook his head.
“You are forgiven” The Exile whispered. “Now… wake up.”
Percy’s eyes cracked open. He was now back in his bed in his shack on the edge of town in Moonwisp, on a little grove. It was far from town, which made shopping more of a chore but to Percy it was worth as it meant less interaction with the other supernatural folk, especially those damned werewolves.
Percy dragged himself out of bed. As he shambled to the bathroom, his phone (the only piece of modern technology he owned) began to ring. Percy sighed and examined the caller ID. It read “John Ramsey.”
“What do you want?” Percy groaned as he answered the phone and held it up to his ear.
“Ah Percy! Thanks again for the help with Tim Fox, but I’m afraid we require your assistance once again” Ramsey greeted in a cheerful tone.
Percy wanted nothing more than to just say “no” and hang up and go back to bed, but the words of The Exile convinced to be more charitable this time around.
“Not even been back a week and I’m already wanting to go on another holiday…” Percy muttered. “Alright, what’s up?”
“Percy, the body of an elven girl was found early this morning, ripped apart by some unknown being” Ramsey explained.
“I’m guessing you want me to investigate?” Percy sighed. “I’ve just come back from holiday dammit.”
“Due to your expertise in monster hunting, we can’t think of a better man for the job” Ramsey smirked.
“Fine… whereabouts are you?” Percy asked.
“Not too far from your home actually, on the very edge of the forest” Ramsey directed.
“Okay, I’ll be there in a few minutes” Percy sighed before hanging up and dragging himself into the bathroom.
After rubbing the sleep out of his emerald eyes and trimming his black beard, he threw on his usual clothes, including his cloak and his hat, before begrudgingly walking out the door and into the morning air. Still recovering from his rude awakening, Percy had hoped to spend the walk to Ramsey in peace, until a familiar voice disturbed him once more.
“Didn’t expect to see you back so soon!” the voice called out.
Percy turned to see a tall and bulky man, with long dark hair and eyes that matched. The man walked with a cane due to injuries sustained from a battle with a demon.
“Marcus Desdit” Percy greeted. “Surprised you still haven’t gotten yourself possessed by a demon.”
“Surprised you still haven’t gotten yourself killed by one” the warlock retorted.
“Surprised you’re still not wearing a shirt even in fucking winter” Percy replied as noticed the man’s bare torso, which was only adorned in tattoos on his chest and back. “What are you doing around here?”
“I’m on my way to work right now, but I had to see that Don Lunar first, he’s been hassling me about the loan I took from him” Marcus explained.
“Why would take a loan from Don fucking Lunar?” Percy asked. “The man’s a sadist.”
“I’m more sadistic than that little puppy Don Lunar, trust me” Marcus scoffed. “You know the old dog tried to intimidate me of all people? As if I’d be afraid!”
“Just don’t go saying that to him, you know how he gets with werewolf racist terms” Percy warned.
“We’ll see” Marcus growled. “Well, I suppose I’ll be off now, I’m sure you’re very busy.”
“Indeed” Percy nodded as the warlock limped past him.
Percy soon came across a taped off crime scene with John Ramsey and about a dozen other Moonwisp guards standing around it, a few armed with rifles.
“Alright, let me see this girl” Percy said to Ramsey.
Ramsey nodded to Percy and guided him across the crime tape and to the centre of the scene. Percy felt a little queasy looking down at the mutilated corpse of the elven girl, lying in a pool of her own blood. Well, what was left of her that was, whatever had killed her had likely devoured most of her. She was missing both legs, only leaving mangled stumps with a bit of bone sticking out. Her chest and stomach was torn open, half-eaten entrails visible underneath her exposed ribcage. Her left ear had been torn off and her left eye had been seemingly clawed out, leaving only a bloody socket and three claw marks across her face, which was pale and bloody. The only part of her that her killer hadn’t touched was the right side of her face and her now blood-stained blonde hair.
“Her clothes are still on, ripped slightly but I guess this mean she wasn’t attacked my some psycho pervert” Percy spoke inquisitively. “What was her name?”
“Odessa, I believe, we thought it might have been a werewolf attack at first, but the Lunar Brotherhood always stay in their warehouse chained up when they transform, while the lone wolves like Volke Vossler either tie themselves up or go deep into the forest to transform and seldom go near town” Ramsey explained. “This is far too near to town to be the work of a werewolf.”
“Perhaps one chased her? Let’s confirm” said Percy, as he gently reached under the girl’s ribcage a felt for a heart. “Nope, definitely not the work of a werewolf.”
Ramsey looked at Percy, somewhat puzzled.
“Werewolves always devour the hearts of their victims, her heart is still here” Percy explained.
“What if the werewolf was perhaps saving it for later?” Ramsey joked.
“Nope, the heart is always the lycanthrope’s main target, they will rip through their victims to get to it, although we are unsure why this is the case” Percy explained. “What time was she found, and by whom?”
“One of the new guardsmen found her at about 6AM, she looked to have been dead for about two hours, poor boy, on his first patrol no less!” Ramsey chuckled.
“I feel more sympathy for the dead girl before me than your guardsman to be honest” Percy grunted. “What was the boy’s name?”
“Um, let me think, what was it… ah! Tommy Ferguson was the name” Ramsey answered. “Boy claims his brother was killed by Tim Fox.”
Withdrawing his hand from the girl’s heart, Percy noticed a strange black substance now coated his fingers.
“What the fuck is that?” Ramsey questioned.
“I… don’t know” Percy replied.
“Should probably get that analysed at the lab” Ramsey suggested. “Hey, Odessa’s family doesn’t know she’s dead yet, only missing, and as the guard captain it’s my duty to make sure they do know but I don’t really want to have to go all the way to the Elven Kingdom myself, think you could come with me?”
“Don’t you have a car?” Percy sighed.
“The elves get really upset when we bring our modern human technology into their precious forests, so we’ll have to go on horseback” Ramsey explained.
“Maybe it would be better if I speak with Ferguson while you go on ahead, see if he knows anything else while it’s all still fresh in his mind” Percy suggested.
“We can do that after, come on man… please?” Ramsey pleaded. “I can’t leave this any longer or the elves will get even more pissed off.”

[Speak with Tommy Ferguson] It won't be fresh in his mind later. If the worst that could happen is the elves get pissed off, I'm not too worried. Though I expect Ramsay won't appreciate it, and that's something I'd rather avoid.
Also I'd just like to quickly say I loved the bit with Marcus, despite how brief it was. So excited to read more of him.

Moonwisp: Part 2
Eight years ago
Once the final school bell had rung, twelve year old Jason Burrows packed up his things and began to make his way through the crowds of students rushing towards the exit as quick as possible. He wanted to get to the nearby primary school as fast as he could, as he didn’t like leaving his younger sister by herself for too long, as he was paranoid of her getting kidnapped or hurt.
Living with only his mother and sister, Jason saw himself as the man of the house and believed that it was his duty to protect them both despite his scrawny size. Every day while at school he would become fearful an intruder would hurt his mother or a creep would abduct his sister.
To his relief, his eight year old sister Lydia was waiting in the same spot as always when he arrived at the primary school. After giving her a hug and asking how her day at school was the siblings both set towards their home. Now Jason had to hope that his second fear of returning home to find an intruder wouldn’t come true. Jason kept an eye out for any white vans or strange men approaching as he escorted Lydia back home.
“The moment of truth” Jason thought as they walked up to the front door of their house.
Believing his fears would be alleviated as soon he opened the door, his heart jumped and he leapt back from the door startled as he heard a shouting masculine voice from within the house before he had even touched the door handle. He had hoped it would just be the television at first, but when he heard his mother’s voice shouting back at the man, Jason grew anxious.
“Who’s that?” Lydia asked with a confused expression on her face.
“I don’t know, but stay behind me” Jason reassured her, trying to sound confident.
Jason wanted to take his sister and run to a neighbour’s house and get them to phone the police, but he was worried something might happen to his mother if it took too long so he saw no other option but to go into the house. He took a deep breath and twisted the door handle and entered as stealthily as he could.
“I won’t let you take my children!” Jason heard his mother yell from the kitchen.
“A kidnapper?” Jason thought, gulping.
Jason turned to Lydia and made a hushing gesture to make sure she would keep quiet and keep their presence unknown. Jason decided to do something reckless. He grabbed a nearby ornament and gestured to Lydia to stay near the front door before sneaking into the kitchen. He hoped he would be strong enough to knock the kidnapper unconscious and save his mother.
“You must have known I would find them eventually” the man snarled to Jason’s mother.
“You don’t know for sure that they are like you, at least let it be confirmed first!” Jason’s mother cried.
“It’s too much of a risk, not just for you and Lydia but humanity as a whole!” the man yelled.
Jason was now confused at what was going on as he crept closer and closer, unseen by both his mother and the mysterious man, but he prioritized his mother’s safety first, so he took the opportunity to attempt to strike the man with the ornament. His attempt failed however, as the man somehow detected Jason’s attack and grabbed Jason’s wrist and turned to face him, letting out some kind of beastly growl. Jason closed his eyes and braced himself to be struck but the man’s grip on him loosened.
In that moment, Jason truly believed this man was going to kill him.
“Jason?” the man questioned.
Jason opened his eyes and looked up to see the face of his father Don Lunar looking down at him with a surprised expression before a genuine smile spread across the man’s face. Jason was even more shocked to see him, for he had not seen his father for years, not since Jason was very little and Lydia was only a toddler.
“Dad?” Jason asked timidly.
“Goodness you’ve grown” his father chuckled. “I’ve missed you and your sister.”
All the fear that Jason had suddenly vanished, replaced only with anger.
“Then why haven’t we seen you in years!” Jason cried.
“There is a reason for that, and it’s why I’m here now” his father explained.
“You’re taking him Don, or Lydia” his mother hissed.
“It’s not your decision” his father growled.
“They’re MY children” his mother stated.
“They won’t be if they start transforming” his father retorted.
“What’s going on?” Lydia questioned as she entered the room.
“Hello sweetheart, do you remember me?” his father greeted to Lydia.
“Daddy?” Lydia asked with a confused expression on her face. She then smiled upon realizing it was really him and rushed towards him to hug him.
“Missed you too” their father smiled as he held his daughter close.
“Why are you here?” Jason questioned, having grown a disliking towards the man due to his infrequent appearances during his and Lydia’s lives.
“It’s about you and perhaps your sister too” their father explained.
“Don, please” their mother pleaded.
“They have a right to know, you should have told them years ago” their father hissed.
“They wouldn’t have understood” their mother argued.
Jason and Lydia’s father turned to them both and knelt on the floor.
“I suffer from an illness that makes me a danger to you both and your mother every now and then” their father explained. “This illness is hereditary, so there’s a possibility that one or even both of you kids have it too, more likely you Jason than you Lydia, as it’s more common in boys than girls.”
“I don’t feel ill” Jason responded.
“The illness will not become apparent until you reach puberty” said father. “And you are nearing that point Jason, so the illness may reveal itself soon if you truly have it.”
“What exactly does this illness entail?” Jason asked.
“You will start to… ah sod it” father sighed, before giving Jason and Lydia a look of utter seriousness. “The forces of darkness, supernatural beings, all of it is real, even The Devil, but perhaps not in the same form as you have been taught at school or church and you might be one of those supernaturals Jason, more precisely a werewolf.”
Jason stared blankly at his father for a moment.
“Are you on drugs?” Jason laughed.
Father scowled at Jason before rising to his feet and closing his eyes, looking as though he was concentrating on something. He suddenly grunted in pain and fell to his knees, his head facing the kitchen floor.
“Are you okay?” Lydia asked their father, a concerned look on her face.
Their father suddenly glared up at them, his features now distinctly different, inhuman. His eyes were now glowing golden, like that of a wolf’s, and he opened his mouth to reveal a set of sharp wolflike fangs. Lydia screamed and cowered behind her brother as their father let out a monstrous growl. Jason stared back at his father, too frightened to move. Jason noticed that his mother did not seem fazed whatsoever. In the blink of an eye their father’s features suddenly reverted back to its less mentally scarring appearance.
“Do you believe me now?” their father asked.
“That’s just some kind of magic trick, it has to be” Jason whimpered.
“Magic exists too, I could also transform further, but then I might eat you and your sister” his father explained.
Jason finally accepted that it was all real. His entire worldview had been shattered.
“So, I might be a werewolf?” Jason asked.
“I’m afraid so” father confirmed.
“Is that all you’re here for, tell me I’m a werewolf?” Jason questioned.
“No, I’m here to help you, to present you with an offer that can help manage this condition” father explained.
“What would that be?” Jason asked, hopeful for some sort of cure or suppressant.
“There is a place where supernatural beings can live in peace, where they can be protected and keep the rest of humanity safe” father replied. “It is known as Moonwisp, and I have been living there for about a decade in order to keep you, your mother and sister and everyone else safe.”
“Am I going to go there?” Jason asked.
“It’s up to you, while I think it would be best, I will not forcefully take you from your home, your family and everything you’ve ever known” father assured.
Jason looked over to his mother and sister, who both looked at him, sadness on their faces. He then remembered his promise to himself to protect them both.
One year later
Jason looked anxiously at the full moon. He had recently turned thirteen, and the breaking voice and the few hairs growing on his chin and above his upper lip was a clear sign that he had hit puberty. If his father’s warnings had been true, then tonight would be his first transformation. He had been chained to a post inside of a warehouse as a precaution.
“The moment of truth” Jason thought.
“You made the right choice son” his father reassured, who was chained to another post.
“The first transformation is always the worst” one of the pack members reassured.
Upon arriving in Moonwisp about a year ago Jason’s father had revealed he was the Alpha werewolf of a pack of werewolves who were known as the Lunar Brotherhood. His father had apparently inherited the position from his own father, and he was apparently apart of a long bloodline of hereditary werewolves, and Jason was to become the Alpha after his father’s passing. The other pack members of the Lunar Brotherhood were a diverse mix of hereditary werewolves, werewolves who had been attacked and infected with the curse, and those who had been infected by other means. They had all been recruited by Jason’s father over the years and they all transformed together chained up in a warehouse that his father owned, where they were safe from attacking other supernaturals and the human guardsman who kept everyone in order.
Suddenly Jason felt a hot pain surge throughout his body and he let out a pained scream. This was followed by the screams of his pack members and father. Jason could feel dark hair push through his pores, claws tear through his fingertips and a sharp, tearing pain in his gums as wolflike fangs pushed through his teeth. Jason’s eyeballs began to burn and his vision became blurry as his eyes turned into that of a wolf’s. As his nose and jaw begin to extend and morph into the monstrous muzzle of a lycanthrope, he began to lose control of his mind, and lost consciousness.
Present day
“Hey, wake up” a familiar feminine voice spoke.
The now twenty year old Jason, who had changed his last name from Burrows to Lunar, woke to see his now sixteen year old sister Lydia looking down at him. Jason remembered how much he had missed his sister during his first few years at Moonwisp, he had never expected to ever see her again after he left for Moonwisp, due to female werewolves being extremely rare, but to both his joy and disappointment she had been revealed to also be a werewolf. When she was twelve she suddenly began to transform under a full moon and their mother had miraculously managed to tie her up just in time. It appeared that the Lunar genes were very dominant. Their mother had then realized that Jason’s choice to go to Moonwisp was for the best and contacted their father. Having proved himself to be an upstanding citizen by then, Jason was allowed to venture out of Moonwisp back to his old with his father to collect Lydia. It was the last time Jason had seen his mother, and he felt incredibly sorry for her as she had to give up both of her children. She was unable to come to Moonwisp due to how the only humans being allowed are trained guardsman.
“You didn’t come home last night, you went to check on Hunter and never returned, I was worried, especially with the murder of that elf girl having recently happened” a realization suddenly hit him. “For god’s sake, don’t tell me you spent the night with him.”
“I don’t see why it is any of your business who I date” Lydia told him off as he dragged himself out of bed to the nearby mirror in the bathroom.
“I’m not bothered who you decide to throw yourself at, it’s dad who will get bothered” Jason explained as he began to comb his messy dark hair. “He’ll tear poor Hunter to shreds if ever finds out, how is he by the way?”
“He’s fine, his injuries from the lunatic have pretty much healed, although he seems to be exhausted from last night” she giggled.
“I really didn’t need to know that” Jason grimaced, his face cringing in response, as he began to apply facial cream to his pale, scarred skin. He had received the scars from his father the morning after his first transformation, who had purposely clawed him like he had done to all other Lunar Brotherhood members, as a branding mark.
“You’re just jealous because you’ve never even kissed a girl, although I don’t why you haven’t, have you realized yet that half the girls in Moonwisp have a crush on you?” Lydia teased.
Jason wasn’t whether it was thanks to his lycanthropy or his human genes, but he had grown to be considerably tall and handsome, with his exercise routines and raw strength he had gotten from his lycanthropy having made him muscular.
“Most of them are elves over five times my age, fairies that are just too short or extroverted mermaids who are way too loud for me” Jason retorted.
“What kind of girls are you interested in, if you’re even into girls?” Lydia asked.
“I suppose a girl with a similar personality and life experiences would be best suited for me” Jason explained, buttoning up his favourite flannel shirt. “Where’s dad?”
“He’s gone to invite Hunter to the pack, I saw him on the way back, thankfully he didn’t see me” said Lydia. “You wanna go see the alphyn that arrived last week in the Supernatural Wildlife Centre?”
Jason turned to Lydia. Unlike Jason and their father, she was on the shorter side, being almost a foot shorter than Jason. With dark hair, hazel eyes and pale skin similar to Jason and their father’s, she was very pretty and the crush of many males in Moonwisp, werewolf or otherwise, although mainly of the Lunar Brotherhood members, mostly due to her being the only female werewolf in Moonwisp, although none would admit to it or make any advances towards her, in fear of the wrath of their Alpha, who had earned the nickname The Big Bad Wolf for his fearsome appearance and personality. Lydia lacked the facial scarring that Jason and the other pack members had, as she wasn’t officially a member as their father believed it would ruin the name and the image of the pack, although she was allowed in the pack’s properties and gave advice on their father’s choices. She chose to transform in a separate room as she preferred to not be naked in an entire room of men, especially with her father and brother there.
“Sure” Jason replied to Lydia’s suggestion.
As the siblings left the mansion and made their way to the town centre, Jason soon picked up the scent of a vampire, although whom exactly it belonged to he did not recognize.
“Do you recognize that scent?” Jason asked Lydia. While the exact scent a vampire gave off was difficult to describe to a human, it had a cold feel to it and chilled Jason’s nostrils.
“It could be that new vampire, the one that arrived here with Mr Grigorov” Lydia explained. “She’s about our age.”
“The one that got almost shot to death, isn’t she like his last living descendant?” Jason inquired.
They decided to follow the scent and soon came across the aforementioned vampire, sitting alone on a bench, looking deep in thought. Jason found her to be incredibly beautiful, with pale skin, pitch black hair and blue eyes.
“She looks lonely, think we should try and befriend her?” Lydia asked.
“I’m not sure what would be worse, dad finding out you have a boyfriend or finding out we befriended a vampire, you know how he feels about them” Jason whispered.
“Oh he’s all bark and no bite, you shouldn’t take everything he says so seriously” Lydia remarked.
“But wasn’t she involved with that psychotic demon that burned all those schoolkids to death?” Jason said anxiously.
“Well if you won’t talk to her I will anyway” said Lydia.
She did look lonely and relatively harmless despite being a bloodsucking vampire, who his father had badmouthed about throughout Jason’s entire time at Moonwisp and warned him to stay away from, perhaps Lydia was right and his father was just exaggerating, and Jason took everything too seriously. But then again, Jason hated disappointing people, especially his father.

[Approach the vampire girl with Lydia] Don't see the harm. Both could use a friend. Though maybe one more so than the other.
I like Lydia so far. Not what I expected but she's fun and likeable. And I really like Jason! I think he could be a great POV.

I missed the last voting, which is unfortunate, especially as I did manage to read the part in time. So, let me just say that one thing I am really intrigued by Percy's return and apparently vastly different role in the community compared to the original. With him, Don Lunar and Odessa having returned (albeit the latter in a very minor role), it makes me wonder how many familiar faces I will spot. Fingers crossed for some of my favourites ^^ One thing I am also intrigued by is who will potentially end up in a different role this time. Percy seems to be in a different position at least and I could see Don Lunar getting some majorly improved screentime. I mean, in a way he already did. [Approach the vampire girl with Lydia]Well, it is clear Amy needs friends. The only person she warmed up to turned out to be a deeply troubled and unstable half demon and while I always liked their interactions and hope for more, it should be clear that she needs actually normal people around her, even if they are werewolves. I like Jason and Lydia, so let's see how they get along with her. Also, I sent you a PM with a pretty important question about my next character, I need this before I can finish him

Originally I was going to go for another werewolf detective to be investigating Odessa's murder, but I realized I would then have three werewolf PoVs when I wanted to have a more diverse cast of PoVs, and it was more fitting to have an expert on magic and dark forces to be the investigator. Aspects of characters from the original story have also been put into newer characters, with aspects of the character Barry Cold being put into a Hunter and Jason, with Hunter having a somewhat similar role to Barry, at least in this chapter. I can confirm that there will be at least one more returning character from the old story appearing, although I'm not sure if he was a favourite of yours, although I don't think you disliked him.

Moonwisp: Part 3
November 2016
It was late evening when Amy and her parents had arrived back at the mansion. They had spent most of the evening at a fancy restaurant as a belated seventeenth birthday present for Amy from her parents. She had expected to spend the rest of the night binging television shows, or browsing social media on her phone, not for her life to change forever.
Walking up the steps to the front door, everything had seemed normal, up until her father had noticed the lights were on within the mansion. Amy thought it might have been Gerald the groundskeeper, but he usually didn’t work this late.
“Stay here girls” Amy’s father had whispered to her and her mother. “I’m going to check it out.”
Her father had then slowly opened the front door and crept inside, leaving Amy and her mother outside and anxious. Amy had suggested to her mother to phone the police, but it was then that an unfamiliar masculine voice began shouting from within the home.
“I’ll fucking shoot!” the voice barked.
“We have to help him before he gets shot” her mother spoke, before entering the mansion.
Amy reluctantly followed her mother, sneaking into the mansion as quietly as possible.
“What is you want, valuables, money?” Amy’s father reasoned.
“I want you… to go away…” the man hissed.
Amy and her mother soon came upon the living room, where her father stood, his hands in the air as a tall man wearing a balaclava stood about two metres in front of him, with a pistol in his hands. Amy and her mother were positioned behind the armed intruder. The intruder seemed skittish, and repeatedly murmured to himself and stared at the floor, with the gun still trained on Amy’s father. Amy’s father soon noticed his wife and daughter’s presence, and as silently as possible gestured for them to get away while the intruder muttered to himself.
As Amy and her mother slowly backed away, her mother accidently knocked over a vase with her elbow, causing it to smash on the floor. The intruder spun around in shock and began to scream maniacally, firing a single bullet which struck Amy’s mother, tearing through her skull and killing her instantly. Her lifeless body then collapsed to the floor, leaving Amy to watch in horror as a trail of blood began to leak from the bullet hole.
“NO!” her father yelled in a fit of rage, and he charged at the masked man.
“GET AWAY FROM ME!” the intruder howled as he spun back around and shot Amy’s father five times in the chest, leaving him to fall to the floor, bleeding profusely.
Amy stood frozen in shock, unable to move.
“I didn’t want any of this… he made me… HE MADE ME!” the intruder screamed as he aimed the gun at Amy, his hand shaking erratically.
“No… please” Amy’s father begged as he began to cough up blood.
“HE MADE ME!” the intruder bellowed, opening fire at Amy, the bullets striking her in the abdomen.
“HE MADE ME!”
“HE MADE ME!”
“HE MADE ME!”
Amy collapsed to the floor, fatally wounded. Writhing in pain, she opened her eyes to see the intruder standing above her, the pistol now aimed down at her head.
“I’m sorry… you can be at peace now little one” the intruder spoke now in a calm tone.
The lights suddenly dimmed and Amy saw movement in the darkness.
“That smell” the intruder hissed.
The intruder turned around too late as a pale figure suddenly grabbed the intruder, breaking the hand which held the gun. It then bit into the intruder’s neck and tore out his throat, causing a river of blood to spurt out and coat carpet. The intruder choked and spluttered as he collapsed to the floor and bled out.
“Please Lucius… save her” Amy heard her father choke, before she finally succumbed to her injuries and felt her life slip away.
Amy awoke to find herself in a room of darkness. She felt herself being dragged by an unknown force to an endless, fiery pit in the centre of the room. She couldn’t move whatsoever.
Within the pit Amy could see a gigantic horned beast engulfed in the flames. Amy could sense that it was ancient.
“The Devil?” Amy thought.
The beast reached its clawed hand towards her, and a swarm of bats suddenly flew out of its palm, all of them flapping upwards towards her. Amy closed her eyes as they began to completely smother her.
Amy jolted upwards as she awoke. She had hoped everything that she had just witnessed was just a terrible nightmare. The lights were now back on and she was laid out on the sofa.
“Amalia…” a familiar voice spoke.
Amy turned to see the pale figure that had ripped the intruder’s throat out. She immediately recognized him as her uncle Lucius. She had met him frequently throughout her childhood when he came to visit her father, and he was nice enough, although he did come off as a bit strange. Lucius had told her that she reminded him of his daughter, although she had never met her.
“Lucius, what happen-” Amy begun before gasping in horror at the sight of her parent’s bloody corpses, with the intruder’s corpse sprawled out next to them.
“No… no!” she cried, rushing towards her parent’s bodies before feeling an immense pain in her abdomen and falling to her knees.
“Be careful, the venom only slightly healed your wounds, you need blood to recover fully” Lucius spoke.
“Venom… blood… what are you talking about?” Amy whimpered, cringing at the pain in her abdomen.
“Your father… God rest his soul… asked me to save you, but your wounds were too severe for any surgery to save you, so I saved you in the only way I knew how… I transformed you into a vampire” Lucius explained solemnly.
“What? This doesn’t make any sense! Why did this happen!” she sobbed.
“There’s no easy way to put it, you and your parents were murdered by a burglar Amalia, and I, a vampire, bit you and turned into a vampire as well, I am sorry, but we need to go soon in case anyone heard all those gunshots” Lucius warned.
“Go where? Can’t you please do something about my parents, I can’t look at them like that anymore!” Amy sobbed.
“We’re going to the place where I live, where vampires can live in peace and not be a danger to humans” Lucius explained. “I have to leave their bodies here I’m afraid, the police will need to know they’re dead and not missing… although I can’t have them seeing the bite on the burglar, I will need to ditch him somewhere.”
Lucius then effortlessly picked up the burglar’s corpse and turned back to Amy.
“Stay here alright? I will be right back” he reassured, before leaving through the back door and into the darkness.
Amy stared at her parent’s bodies. She couldn’t handle this, she didn’t want to this accept this was happening, she had to get out of here. She then threw on a hoodie and ran through the front door.
Weeks later
Amy lost track of how long she had been running for. As the days passed she grown more and more… thirsty, but not for water or any other beverage… human blood. But she lacked the strength to attack anyone, and even if she had she wouldn’t allow herself to, she wanted to remain as human as possible. She couldn’t the pain anymore… she just wanted to end it all.
It was a cloudy, windy day as Amy weakly stumbled through a cornfield, she heard vehicles in the distance, not the most graceful way to go, but she was too weak for anything else. Reaching the end of the cornfield, she could see a lorry fast approaching. Her plan was to throw herself onto the road at the last second, and that was just what she did as she stumbled into the road and closed, trying to concentrate on happy memories with her family and friends.
All of a sudden she felt a force push her forwards, and she tripped onto the other side of the road. She heard the lorry screech to a halt and a loud thud, then a sickening crunch.
Amy looked up, and to her horror saw a pitch black, eight foot tall demon with large horns and wings. It was hunched over by the driver door of the lorry, the mangled corpse of the driver in its clawed hands, its bladelike fangs feasting on the driver’s flesh. Amy screamed and the demon spun towards her, glaring at her with its glowing red eyes which were devoid of any pupils, and it growled before lunging at her.
Present day
Amy woke up in a cold sweat, breathing heavily in fear. She was in her bedroom in Lucius’ mansion at Moonwisp. Originally it had a more gothic aesthetic, but Lucius had had the place refurnished to create an environment Amy would feel more at home in. Gazing over at the clock, she saw that it was morning, so she got out of bed and got dressed, ignoring the scars from the bullets as best she could before walking down the stairs.
“Good morning Amalia” Lucius greeted. He was sat on a chair in the living room with a flask of blood that Amy had now come to accept she would have to live from now on.
“Morning” Amy replied solemnly.
“Did you have that nightmare again?” Lucius asked.
“Yes” Amy said.
“That monster really did have an effect on you” Lucius sighed.
“I just don’t understand, everything is the same as it happened except for the end with the demon” said Amy.
“Well he’s locked in Velgourne with all the other monsters like him, so he can’t hurt you, I promise” Lucius reassured.
“I guess” Amy sighed.
“You spend a lot of time in your room, there’s a whole town out there, and lots of supernaturals to meet” said Lucius.
Amy shrugged.
“I know I will never replace your parents Amy, but I hope one day you will be able to see me as family” Lucius smiled.
Amy said nothing, still hating the man for turning her into a vampire and not allowing her to die with her parents.
“Why don’t you go out there and make some friends? I’m sure there are many out there who would love to hear what human society is like” Lucius suggested. “But avoid those Lunars at any cost, they are nothing but crooks.”
“Fine, I’ll go” Amy grunted before leaving the mansion.
“Teenagers” Lucius shook his head.
As always, the sky was cloudy and grey like on most weekdays, which was due to a powerful spell which shielded Moonwisp from the sun to prevent any vampires getting burnt to a crisp. Only on weekends was the sun allowed to shine on Moonwisp in order to appease those who wanted a bit of sunshine, and vampires were forced to stay indoors on those days.
Amy walked through the streets, looking for someone interesting to talk to. In the distance on a small island close to Moonwisp she could see the great tower of Velgourne, the facility in which all dangerous supernaturals were imprisoned within. Amy thought about Tim and what he was doing in there. Even after what he did to Jimmy Ferguson and the other kids she couldn’t help but feel sympathy towards him, even if he was a frequent figure in her nightmares.
Amy suddenly felt someone bump into her. She looked up to see a tall man towering over her, who had the appearance of a lumberjack with his flannel shirt and jeans. His hair was dark and short and his skin pale and scarred, with three claw marks running through his left eye, which itself was completely white, while the other eye was of a hazel colour, and he looked to be in his late thirties. Going off his intimidating nature, she assumed she was looking at the infamous Don Lunar, who Lucius had warned her about, apparently his nickname was “The Big Bad Wolf”. Admittedly frightened by the man, she spoke up to apologize.
“Sor-” Amy begun, before Don snarled and shoved her aside.
“Fucking bloodsucking freak” he growled as he charged off.
Amy decided to take a break from walking around and planted herself on a nearby bench. She wished she had brought a book with her at least.
After a few minutes of sitting she saw a young man approaching her. He was tall, and had messy dark hair and hazel eyes. His skin was pale and scarred, and he looked to be a few years older than her. While she found him to be handsome, she also noted his strong resemblance to the scary man she had just had the unpleasant encounter with. He was dressed similarly too.
The young man awkwardly stood staring at her for a few moments before contorting his face into an even more awkward attempt of a smile.
“Can I help you?” Amy inquired.
“I… um… uh” the young man stuttered before he interrupted by a feminine voice.
“You’re so hopeless brother” spoke the young woman who was around Amy’s age as she walked beside the young man. She had strikingly similar features to her brother, but was pretty in her own right. “Hi I’m Lydia and this is my dumb brother Jason.”
“Hi” Amy replied, trying to sound friendly.
“We saw you looked lonely so we were wondering if you would be interested in hanging out with us later” Lydia smiled.
“Yeah… what she said” Jason stuttered awkwardly, scratching at the back of his head. “We can send you the info of where to meet if you want.”
“You wouldn’t happen to be Lunars would you?” Amy asked.
“Yeah, we are” Jason replied, looking slightly offended. “Is that a problem?”
“Great, avoid the Lunars Lucius said and who are the first people I meet? Lunars” Amy thought.

Ahh, that's so tricky! I worry that nothing good will come of it but at the same time I really want her to accept! Though on the other hand declining could make things a bit hostile between the families. Particularly since it'd be quite obvious that Amy would be refusing simply because of their family names. Plus friendship! And whatnot, it could be good for both. Besides Lydia's really likeable and Jason's adorable. [Accept the Lunars' invitation] Screw it! I choose friendship.

I feel like my vote was already known beforehand because of my multiple comments about liking werewolves and vampires, so here, have a new comment that's not something about vampires and werewolves!
Forget tradition, we're hanging out with the vampires to make Don regret being an ass to Amy. Worst comes to worse, Lucius finds out and grounds her which I'd love to see how that works considering she's an immortal being.
Edit: Oh, right, I meant to put my vote somewhere here. [Accept the Lunars’ invitation]

Ah, I obviously greatly enjoyed this part! Ever since it became clear Amy would get her own storyline in this chapter, I was excited for it and this beginning definitely did not disappoint. Seeing the events that turned her into a vampire have been quite haunting, there is no wonder how she ended up like that. One thing that I am not sure what to make of was her flashback to the accident. So... she did see Tim in his demon form, but didn't make the connection, I suppose? Then there is no wonder she did not stick around. It also means she did not actually turn him into a vampire, if I take it correctly.
[Accept the Lunars’ invitation]
You know, I am a little bit concerned by the fact that we got two choices that could stand in the way of such a meeting now, with Jason's and Amy's choice, so I am not sure if this is a good decision. That being said, Amy needs friends who are not part-demon with more issues than her, much as I love her interaction with Tim, so Don aside, the younger Lunar's seem like decent people.

The part which showed what happened to Amy's parents and how she turned is actually a recurring nightmare, with everything being exactly as she remembered it happening in reality except for the end with demon Tim. In reality she did find him critically injured from the lorry and did feed from him out of hunger, although he was not turned like any other human would due to his demon blood.

Moonwisp: Part 4
Early 2017
After twisting the key to lock the front door, Hunter was ready to spend the rest of the night watching television or playing video games, until a loud bump from upstairs caught his attention. He at first shrugged it off as an ornament or something falling down, but his father’s shouting (of which the exact words being yelled were inaudible) caused Hunter to go upstairs and investigate. After he reached the top of the stairs, his father’s words became clearer.
“You’re a disgrace to me and your mother’s memory” Hunter heard his father snarl.
Hunter hurriedly rushed into the room his father was in, and was greeted with the sight of his father viscously beating his older brother Martin.
“What the fuck are you doing?!” Hunter barked.
“He’s getting what he deserves” his father hissed, unfazed by Hunter’s sudden presence.
Hunter charged at his father, pulling him away from his brother and grabbing him by the collar of his shirt.
“Why?!” Hunter yelled.
“He’s a disgrace to God!” his father yelled back.
“No… YOU ARE!” Hunter roared, throwing his father backwards in the direction of the wall.
His father instead fell against the window, hitting it with such force that it shattered into pieces, his father then fell through it, plummeting down to the concrete ground below.
Hunter rushed to the window and looked down at the ground, gasping in horror at his father’s corpse splattered against the pavement.
Present day
“What if things went differently?” Hunter thought to himself, having just woken up.
Hunter searched the other side of the bed, hoping that Lydia Lunar would still be lying beside him, and sighed upon finding out that she had already left. In the time he had spent recovering from Gerald’s attack, Jason Lunar and his sister had visited him on numerous occasions. He got on reasonably well with Jason, but he and Lydia had instantly clicked, and recently their relationship had become more intimate. Hunter wasn’t sure if Lydia was only interested in a casual fling or wanted to go steady, but he hadn’t really given it much thought, as his mind had been more occupied with processing all of the things he had seen and learned in the past months. Hunter thought back to his old life outside of Moonwisp, he had had a girlfriend back then, and he felt guilty that he had never gotten to say goodbye before fleeing after he had killed his father.
Hunter looked around the room. He had been staying at a small cabin on the edge of town. Apparently the cabin belonged to someone else, although Hunter had never seen anyone else there beside himself. It was then that Hunter noticed a black furry cat curled up and sleeping in the corner of the room. Hunter had never seen any cat in the cabin before, so was curious as to what it was doing here now.
“Perhaps a pet of the cabin owner?” Hunter thought, reaching his hand out to the cat and whistling at it, gesturing it to come over. “Always been more of a dog person but whatever.”
The cat’s emerald green eyes opened and stared back at Hunter.
“Do you realize how ridiculous you look?” said an unfamiliar masculine voice in a mocking tone.
“Who said that?” Hunter questioned, looking around the room confused.
“Me” the voice spoke once again. Hunter then realized it was coming from the black cat.
“You… the cat?” Hunter asked.
“Yes” the cat replied.
“Alright, I’ve officially gone crazy” Hunter sighed, burying his face into his palms.
“There are men turning into half-dog abominations every full moon, pale goths that live on a diet of solely human blood, and horned bats from Hell frying schoolchildren… and I’M where you draw the line?” the cat scoffed.
“Just what exactly are you, some sort of demon?” Hunter questioned, trying to make sense of the situation.
The talking cat glared at him.
“A… demon! How fucking dare you! You damned monkey! I’ll pulverize you!” the cat shouted, arching its back and unsheathing its claws.
“Wait no! I’m sorry!” Hunter panicked. “What are you then?”
“What do I look like you slack-jawed imbecile?” the cat hissed.
“A cat?” Hunter guessed, bracing himself for death by a thousand cat scratches.
“Correct” the cat responded.
“But cats don’t talk!” Hunter exclaimed.
“They do in Moonwisp” the cat hissed.
“But how?” Hunter questioned.
“Magic” the cat explained.
“I give up” Hunter sighed. “What is your name?”
“I…” the cat begun. “…am Jinx”
“So, do you have an owner?” Hunter asked.
“THAT’S IT!” Jinx roared as he lunged at Hunter, latching onto his face and digging his claws deep into Hunter’s skin.
Hunter attempted to pry the aggravated feline off his face, but Jinx was incredibly strong for a supposed housecat. Jinx then began to repeatedly slam Hunter’s head into a wall.
“YOU DISRESPECT ME IN MY FUCKING HOUSE!” Jinx growled, before biting Hunter’s ear.
“Stop please! I’m sorry!” Hunter whimpered.
Jinx then released Hunter and he collapsed to the floor, a large bruise now on his forehead. Hunter opened his eyes to see Jinx had now grabbed the collar of Hunter’s t-shirt with his small, fluffy paws. It appeared that this cat had thumbs. Jinx then raised his other paw and clenched into a fist.
“You gonna keep your rude questions to yourself?” Jinx hissed.
“Yes…” Hunter cowered.
“Yes what?” Jinx hissed.
“…sir” Hunter added.
Five minutes later
Hunter held the ice pack to his bruised head with one hand, and brought the beer bottle to his lips with the other. Jinx sat beside him on the sofa with his own beer bottle which he held with one paw.
“I just get touchy about being treated like a pet… you know?” Jinx brought up, taking a swig of beer.
“Let’s just… forget about this” Hunter replied, taking a light sip from his own beverage.
“That girl you was with earlier, Lydia Lunar, you sure it’s wise to be messing around with her?” Jinx questioned.
“Where are you going with this?” Hunter asked.
“She’s The Big Bad Wolf’s daughter, that man is dangerous” Jinx explained. “That whole family is nuts.”
“What do you mean?” Hunter asked.
“Don Lunar is a bastard, you know, like he was born out of wedlock” Jinx said. “His younger half-brother Teddy Lunar was supposed to be the Alpha before Don just showed up at Moonwisp one day.”
“Go on” said Hunter.
“Alistair Lunar, Don and Teddy’s father, really took a shine to Don when he first showed up almost twenty years ago. Don was a far more capable and reliable son than Teddy, he was the perfect future Alpha in old Alistair’s eyes, so he made Don his heir over Teddy. They say Teddy grew envious of his bastard half-brother, that he became so jealous he went insane. He ended up killing poor Alistair, stabbed him right in the back. He also tried to kill Don too, that’s why Don’s left eye is like that. The guards found Teddy attacking Don, he had almost clawed his eye out with his bare hands” Jinx explained.
“What happened to Teddy?” Hunter asked.
“The guards dragged him off to Velgourne, no one has seen or heard from him since” said Jinx.
“Shit…” Hunter muttered.
It was at that moment that someone began to knock on the door.
“I’ll get it” said Hunter, resting his beer on the table and walking towards the door.
Hunter almost had a heart attack when he opened the door to see the stern-faced Don Lunar standing in the doorway, towering over Hunter.
“As if getting beaten up by a cat wasn’t enough” Hunter thought as he gulped in fear.
“Woods” Don spoke in his deep, perpetually annoyed tone of speaking.
“Hello, sir” Hunter replied, trying not to sound nervous.
“May I come in?” Don asked.
“O-of course” Hunter nodded.
Don walked past Hunter, ducking slightly to avoid bashing his head on the top of the door frame. Don stared at Jinx, looking seemingly annoyed by the cat’s presence, or perhaps that was just his resting expression.
“Jinx” Don greeted in a less than friendly tone.
“Donnie boy” Jinx hissed back.
Don sneered at the cat and turned back to Hunter.
“You seem to be better now, so I’ve come to extend an offer to you” Don begun.
“Can I ask you something first?” Hunter blurted, having plucked up the courage to finally ask what had been on his mind. “How did I become a werewolf exactly?”
“The burglar responsible for the deaths of the Grigorov family back in that dirty little town appeared to be a werewolf, I do not know why he was there exactly but after he died, his body somehow ended up in some sort of water system” Don explained. “His blood tainted the water, infecting all who drank it, which includes you, a few townspeople who were found dead and that groundskeeper I shot.”
“His name was Gerald” said Hunter. “He mentioned a mistress before he transformed, do you know what he was on about?”
“It seems he had gone Feral, not all who are infected with lycanthropy are able to withstand its symptoms, sometimes the curse bleeds into the human mind, driving them insane” Don explained. “A lot of Ferals worship the moon, seeing it as some kind of magical being, their “mistress”. A shame I had to kill him.”
Despite his words Don did not truly seem to feel sorry for Gerald.
“What was this offer you mentioned?” Hunter questioned.
“Ah” Don begun, turning to look out of the doorway. “Moonwisp isn’t as safe as it seems, there is evil lurking about.”
“Seems safe enough to me” said Hunter.
“There are two types of werewolves in Moonwisp, Hunter” said Don. “There are lone wolves who deal with their transformations themselves, and likely go Feral, and then there is the Lunar Brotherhood, a family.”
Hunter remained silent.
“You think Moonwisp is some sort of haven, Hunter?” Don scoffed. “It’s just one big fucking hunting ground, so why not have the biggest and baddest wolf of them all having your back?”
“What are you suggesting?” Hunter asked.
“Allow me to formally invite you to the Lunar Brotherhood werewolf pack” Don smiled, which was the first time Hunter had ever seen the man do so, as he extended his open palm towards Hunter. “What do you say?”

I know this probably isn't supposed to be a hard choice, but it is. I don't like Don but I also don't want Hunter to become Feral so I'm currently very conflicted.

Anyway, I'm just going to make my vote out of caution and choose [Accept Don’s offer- Join the Lunar Brotherhood]

[Decline Don’s offer- Remain a lone wolf] Seems like a very bad idea to me. We've been warned time and again about the Lunar's and I think it's wise to draw the line here. Hunter wouldn't just be getting help, he'd join and be bound to a whole brotherhood. He'd get tangled up in things he wouldn't want to be part of, forced to do things he doesn't want to do. Maybe if he had more information but right now we've heard nothing good. I understand the fear of him becoming feral but this seems like a very bad idea to me. And I don't think Hunter would be the first lone wolf to remain sane, if he needs it I'm sure others could help. People that won't require him to join their gang to offer help.

Jinx! So, he is the returning character you teased? I gotta admit, when you mentioned a character who might not be one of my favourites, but neither one I outright dislike, he was not on my mind, I was more leaning to Larry or Jack. Jinx was actually someone I found to be fairly likeable, though we didn't spend that much time with him in the original. So, I am really glad he is back, even if his general role in the story seems to be a highly different one this time. In a way, he gives me Hope vibes, which is never a bad thing ^^
[Accept Don’s offer- Join the Lunar Brotherhood]
You know, I am really not sure here. Agent is right, we have been warned about the Lunar Brotherhood and we have heard plenty bad about them. Don is more than shady and joining his pack could backfire. However, what I see is, being a lone wolf holds just as many downsides. Maybe as a part of the Lunar Brotherhood, Hunter can actively prevent some bad stuff even, which another wolf might not do in his position. A lone wolf meanwhile apparently has to focus just to remain sane, which doesn't sound desirable to me. As I said, I am not sure about this at all, but I think this will be my vote for now.

The next part will be the return of Tim Fox. Last time we saw Tim, he had gone to confront his dog's killer. In the fight between them, Tim had ended up in a near death state, and accidentally unleashed his true demon form and his mysterious pyrokinesis powers, incinerating all who were near except for his dog's killer, who Tim brutally killed and devoured afterwards. After months of torture and interrogation, Tim has now been incarcerated within a prison designed to confine the most dangerous of supernatural beings, which will be where his storyline for this chapter takes place.
