I expected that Gerald is a werewolf, to be honest, the hints have been there. What I did not expect is how quickly he got absolutely bonkers. That mistress he mentioned, I really wonder who that could be. Like, even when taking the original story into account, I don't have the slightest idea. Might be related to the weird demon dream Tim, Hunter and Amy had, but I am just as willing to believe that it is someone completely unrelated, another threat to take care of. Whatever it is, this mistress definitely seems like a threat, if Gerald was willing to fight in her name. Considering he explicitly sought out another werewolf makes me believe she might be related to werewolves. Maybe an Alpha werewolf? Ah, I suppose it will be seen as the story goes on. All in all, that was a great part and I am genuinely hyped for the story!

I'm curious, will there be more POV characters or will it strictly be just Hunter and Tim, at least for a while? Chapter 2 will feature at least 3 new PoVs, two of them being characters already introduced in this chapter. I have been considering more as well but I have no ideas or plans as of now.

Rebirth: Part 11
Tim Fox
Despite my badass exit, after a few minutes of aimless wandering around in the dark, I soon realized I had no clue where the Fergusons lived. I reluctantly returned back home, where I saw Amy had done her best to clean up Billy’s blood and had wiped some of the blood out of his fur.
“Back so soon?” she asked, the tone in her voice showing she had given up trying to hold me back. I wasn’t sure if she agreed with me that Billy’s killers deserved to die or she had realized no matter what she did, she couldn’t contain me.
I felt a little bad to have to put more deaths on her conscience, but I had already killed a man for less. There was no way I could allow those who murdered someone I considered a member of my family to get away with what they had done.
We wrapped Billy in his favourite blanket before burying him in the garden next to my other cat Whiskers who had passed away a few years ago. Amy had wanted to make a little cross to put on his grave but we decided it might not be such a good idea to create a crucifix-shaped object as vampires.
“Goodbye mate” I said to Billy as I placed my hand on the soil of his grave, trying to withhold the tears that began to fill my eyes.
“Tim, we should tell your uncle or your aunt, or maybe phone the police” Amy recommended.
“No” I said bluntly. “I can’t risk them seeing you and attracting the attention of your great-great-grandwhatever.”
I looked back down at Billy’s grave.
“My aunt and uncle would phone the police anyway if we told them, and even if we manage to hide you do you know what would happen then?” I asked her.
“Billy’s killers get punished?” Amy answered.
“No, they would get a slap on the fucking wrist because humans don’t view animals to be as important as them” I growled.
I clenched my fists thinking about all the self-righteous humans and their pathetic ideas of justice.
“Those who harm defenceless animals are as bad as those who prey upon innocent children” I snarled. “This country and its stupid fucking laws… giving serials killers, rapists and all other manner of scum second chances… they should all die slow and painful deaths.”
As I expected Amy said nothing. She had given up arguing with me, because she knew nothing she would say would change my mind.
“I will avenge you” I spoke tearfully to Billy’s grave before heading back inside and trying to get some sleep.
I did nothing buy lie in my bed for the entire weekend, thinking about Billy and the Ferguson brothers. I couldn’t stop about how Billy had spent his final moments in agony and fear at the hands of those monsters. It wasn’t until Monday morning and school had started again for the week that my mind turned to other things.
I had tried to hold in my dark urges my entire life, even more when I became a creature of the night. Now was the time to unleash them.
“Tommy… Jimmy… I’m coming for you” I growled as I left for the school to deliver true justice to those who deserved it.
? ? ?
Tommy Ferguson sat miserably on the bench in the changing rooms after school, as he waited for his brother to finish his basketball match. He pulled up his trouser leg and stared depressingly at long scar along his leg, the stitches still in it. His leg had been so badly damaged that his dream career as a footballer was now never going to happen, all because of that freak Tim Fox. Tommy hated him for what he did to him, but his dog didn’t deserve what Jimmy had done to him. He then turned his attention to the fresh, bandaged bite wound on his arm.
The lights began to flicker, and Tommy thought he had heard footsteps. The light then turned completely off, leaving Tommy in a room of darkness.
“Fuck this” Tommy muttered as he gathered his bags and limped towards the exit.
An inhuman growl stopped him dead in his tracks.
“Is this supposed to be some kind of prank?” Tommy called out fearfully.
Suddenly a shadowy humanoid figure with red, glowing eyes raced towards him, wrapping its cold, chilling hands around his neck and slamming him into a nearby locker. The lights turned back on, and Tommy saw the monstrous-looking face of Tim Fox glaring back at him.
“I know what you did” he snarled. “And you’re gonna pay.”
Tim Fox
“TELL ME EVERYTHING OR I’LL RIP YOU TO FUCKING PIECES!” I roared into Tommy’s face as he cowered in fear.
“Get off me you fucking freak!” Tommy cried as he threw weak punches at my head.
Enraged, I slammed him onto the floor and stomped on his good leg, breaking his kneecap with a satisfying crunch, causing Tommy to squeal in agony.
“TELL ME, OR NEXT IS YOUR FUCKING SPINE!” I bellowed, flipping him over and placing my foot on his back.
“Alright! Alright!” Tommy screamed, holding his newly broken leg.
“You killed my dog because you wanted payback, right?” I hissed.
“No… it was Jimmy… he was so angry when you broke my leg… he wanted you to suffer…” Tommy sobbed.
“Go on, tell me every little gory detail, it’ll help me decide exactly what to do afterwards” I spat.
“We overheard you were home alone… so Jimmy… he grabbed his aluminium baseball and he headed to your place… he forced me to come with him… he wanted me to watch… as he beat you up and broke both of your legs” Tommy panted. I could hear his heart racing.
“But I wasn’t there…” I muttered, my rage turning into regret.
If I had been there, I could have saved Billy, it wouldn’t have mattered what Jimmy did to me, I would have fully healed in time.
“We broke into your house and searched for you, but you weren’t there, so we went to leave… but then your dog came out of nowhere and bit me” Tommy explained, now looking guilty.
I began to tear up thinking about how Billy had just tried to defend his home from intruders, only to suffer a brutal fate.
“Jimmy didn’t even try to pull your dog off… he just hit him with baseball bat… again… and again… and again” Tommy continued, a look of repulse on his face as he relived the moment.
Seeing the rage brewing within me, Tommy held up his palm in an attempt to calm me down.
“I tried to stop him… I swear… but my arm and leg was so fucked I could barely move… please Tim, you have to believe me!” Tommy began to cry.
I kneeled down next to him and looked him in the eyes.
“Do you love your brother, Tommy?” I asked him in a monotone voice.
“Sometimes” Tommy replied, a look of panic on his face.
“Then I am sorry for what is about to happen” I told him, rising to my feet. “You should crawl out of here as quick as you can if you value your life.”
I turned away from the emotional mess that was Tommy Ferguson as I headed to the indoor basketball court within the school, where Jimmy Ferguson was playing what was going to be his final match.
I never did find out if Tommy survived or not.
? ? ?
The match was over. Jimmy Ferguson’s team had won. He smiled proudly to himself as he unzipped his bag at the side of the court alongside his teammates and rooted around for his water bottle. His hand briefly brushed again the cold metal of his aluminium baseball bat, where the blood of the Fox family dog had now dried. Jimmy smirked.
“Filthy mutt got what was coming” he thought, reminiscing on the thrill of the kill.
“Is that blood on your bat, Ferguson?” one of Jimmy’s teammates inquired.
“Yep, looks cool right?” Jimmy chuckled, taking a long sip from his water bottle.
“Is it real?” his teammate asked, a concerned look on their face.
Jimmy winked at them.
“Oh you know me, I’m a true killer” Jimmy smirked.
A sudden cackle from across the room surprised him. He turned to see Tim Fox standing at the door, his head cocked to the side and grinning.
“You think you’re the true killer?” Tim smirked. “That’s cute.”
Jimmy couldn’t help but burst into laughter at the sight of Tim attempting to appear scary. The little freak always tried to come off as intimidating, but all he ever accomplished was making a fool out of himself.
“You do realize how retarded you look?” Jimmy laughed.
Tim glared at him, slowly beginning to walk towards him.
“I know what you did you sick, twisted cunt” Tim hissed.
“That’s not a very nice word, Timmy” Jimmy said to him in a baby voice in an attempt to belittle him.
“YOU MURDERED MY DOG!” Tim yelled.
“Murder? Don’t make me laugh” Jimmy retorted. “It’s just a dumb fucking animal.”
“And you’re… just a human” Tim snarled. “And a pretty fucking dumb one at that.”
“You killed a dog, Ferguson?” one of the other players asked, seemingly disgusted. But Jimmy didn’t care.
“That’s right” Jimmy smirked, reaching into his bag and pulling out the blood-splattered, aluminium baseball bat. “I killed the mutt with this.”
Tim gasped, staring at the weapon Jimmy had used to bludgeon his dog to death, tears welling up in his eyes.
“You… you… you” Tim stuttered.
“At a loss for words, kid?” Jimmy taunted.
Tim let out some sort of war cry, before charging at Jimmy faster than he had ever seen anyone in the school run before.
“Grab him!” Jimmy barked at two of his lackeys on the team.
They tackled Tim to the floor, piling onto him.
“Hold him back!” Jimmy ordered, readying his bat as they held Tim up and attempted to restrain him.
Tim grunted and twisted the arm of one of the lackeys, breaking it in the process. In rapid succession he elbowed at the other lackey, striking him in the nose with enough force to break it, causing a stream of blood to shoot out of it. Jimmy took no chances; he rammed the tip of the baseball bat as hard as he could into Tim’s stomach. Tim spluttered, struggling to breathe as he fell to his knees, clutching his abdomen. Before Tim could have the time to recover he kicked Tim as hard as he could in the face and stomped repeatedly on his head. Tim groaned in pain as he writhed around on the floor, coughing up blood and struggling to get up.
“I didn’t get the chance to give you a proper punishment for what you did to my brother back on Friday night, so I guess I’ll do it now” Jimmy cackled.
Jimmy kicked Tim over to his back and brought the baseball bat over his before bringing it down to break one of Tim’s kneecaps. Tim screamed in agony.
“How does that feel you little freak!” Jimmy spat before swinging at Tim again, this time breaking his other kneecap.
“Jesus Christ, Jimmy! Stop!” one of the other players shouted.
“You wanna come and save him?” Jimmy hissed raising the bat up to anyone who attempted to approach him and Tim.
No one dared come any closer.
“YOU SHOULD HAVE SEEN THAT FUCKING MUTT WHIMPER AS I CRACKED ITS FUCKING HEAD OPEN, IT’S LIKE IT WAS BEGGING FOR MERCY!" Jimmy roared, raising the bat once more.
Jimmy was starting to lose it, and when Tim attempted to get up once more, he struck again, but this time at his head. Jimmy heard a wet, crackling noise and looked to see that Tim was now lying motionless on the floor, a large crack now visible on his scalp, with a large stream of blood leaking from it.
“Shit…” Jimmy gasped, taking a step back.
“Holy shit! You fucking killed him!” one of the players yelled, horrified.
“No… no… no, it was an accident!” Jimmy cried, panicked.
The puddle of blood forming on the floor next to Tim’s skull only began to grow wider and wider. Jimmy swore he could see some kind of red, mushy substance on Tim’s head wound.
Jimmy felt immense relief when Tim’s body began to twitch and spasm.
“See…see…he’s alive” Jimmy whimpered.
“Barely” one of the players pointed out. “Poor fucker’s probably got brain damage.”
“I’m so fucked, I’m so fucked, I’m so fucked” Jimmy began to hyperventilate, more concerned about doing time for this as opposed to whether Tim was dying or brain dead.
Tim stopped moving and seemingly died. Jimmy dropped the bat, now coated fresh with Tim’s blood. He clutched his head in his hands and stared shocked at Tim’s lifeless body. Jimmy took a few steps back, trying to process what he had just done.
He really was a true killer now.
Tim suddenly let out a monstrous, inhuman roar and burst into flames. A fiery explosion followed milliseconds later, sending Jimmy flying across the room and slamming him against the wall, knocking him unconscious and incinerating everything and everyone else.
When Jimmy awoke, all he could hear were the roaring flames. The strong smell of smoke filled his nostrils, causing him to choke as he tried to breathe. He tried to pull himself up, but his legs had been badly injured from the impact of being propelled into the wall. He examined his surroundings. Despite being miraculously unscathed by the flames himself, the fire appeared to have spread to the rest of the school. Their charred corpses lying all around the burning room, it appeared that everyone else in the room had been immediately burnt to death by the flames… all except for one person.
One person was in the centre of the room, engulfed in the flames and screaming in agony. Jimmy recognized the screams as being that of Tim Fox.
“But… I killed you” Jimmy thought, confused and terrified.
Tim flailed around the room screaming, but Jimmy noticed some else was happening to him. Tim’s body… was changing. Jimmy soon realized that after a while, Tim’s screams turned into maniacal, monstrous laughter. He was growing significantly taller, and bulkier. Two large, pointy objects began to emerge from Tim’s head and Jimmy soon realized that they were horns growing out of his head. Huge, black, feathery wings, like that of an angel’s, emerged from Tim’s spine. Jimmy also saw a tail swinging around from behind Tim’s lower body.
The flames that had engulfed Tim were suddenly extinguished out of nowhere, leaving the most terrifying thing Jimmy had ever seen standing before him.
Jimmy couldn’t do anything but scream in horror upon seeing it as an eight feet tall demon stood before him, and its head swivelled in his direction. Its face was like that of a human’s, but also had a beastlike look to it. Its eyes were glowing and an evil blood red colour, with no visible pupils to be seen, and its ears were pointed like knives. A sadistic, fiendish grin full of evil stretched across its face, revealing a row of teeth that looked more of bladelike fangs. Then all of a sudden, as though it had been snapped out of a trance, its expression changed into a look of utter hatred and rage.
“It was an accident, I swear, please believe me” Jimmy sobbed, begging for his life.
It let out a monstrous, inhuman roar and leapt at Jimmy.
“NO PLEASE! TIM, PLEASE NO! PLEASE TIM IT WAS AN ACCIDE-” Jimmy cried as the demon grabbed hold of him.
Jimmy screeched in agony as the demon bent his limbs into positions they were not supposed to be in, until they gave in and were torn clean off his body. The demon then tore open his gut and ripped out his insides, causing him to vomit blood.
The last thing Jimmy Ferguson saw was the open jaws of the demon known as Mortimer “Tim” Fox, as it began to devour him.
Tim Fox
As the rage subsided, I began to revert back to my human form, the little that remained of Jimmy falling from my hands, as I fell to floor on all fours, my now naked body recovering from the brutal transformation. I had no clue what had just happened to me. I had never done that before. Was this some kind of vampire power that Amy didn’t mention?
I looked around me to see what had happened to the people around me, including those that tried to save me. I vomited out pieces of Jimmy upon seeing their charred remains. They didn’t deserve that, I didn’t want to kill them. As Jimmy had taunted me and beat me to a pulp, I could feel something beginning to boil within me, when I felt as though I was going to die, I allowed it to unleash. I did not want these people to suffer such a horrible fate, please remember that, I wanted to cry but I was far too confused and shocked at everything that had happened.
I noticed that the fire began to spread onto me once more. It did not hurt whatsoever, it didn’t even burn my flesh. If anything, it soothed my wounds, like a gentle kiss. When I was on fire, the only pain I felt was from my transformation.
“I have to get out of here, I have to get back to Amy” I thought, dragging myself up to my feet and covering my private parts, before running through the fire exit and into the darkness of the winter evening.
I could see fire trucks approaching the school, their sirens letting out a haunting wail which still plagues my mind. I stole some fresh clothes from a clothesline in a random garden and ran as fast as I could back home… away from this nightmare… and back to my only remaining friend in this world… if she even still considered me a friend after finding out about this.
The lights were off and the door was unlocked when I got back, which should alarmed at first, but I was to traumatized from what had just happened to think much of it at the time. That was a big mistake. Amy was in the kitchen, a look of fear in her eyes upon seeing me run in. Did she know what I had done?
“Amy… I…” I began, before falling to the floor and bursting into tears.
She looked as though she wanted to speak, but said nothing.
“Kill me… please… I don’t want to live this life anymore” I wailed. “Just stake me, chop my head off, anything… PLEASE!”
“Death is too easy for you, monster” a sudden unfamiliar voice spoke from behind me.
I had almost no time to react before an electric shock surged through my body, immobilizing me and causing to collapse onto the floor. I heard several hurried footsteps, and looked up to see a dozen armed soldiers that looked like SWAT team members surrounding me with their rifles trained onto me. They had the name “Moonwisp” printed onto their armour.
I saw another stranger walk into the room, although he looked vastly different to the armed soldiers crowding around me. He was very tall, thin and pale, with black, gelled hair, and a gaunt, ghoulish looking face with a sharp nose and was dressed in very formal attire. He glanced at me briefly before he walked up to Amy and rested his hand on her shoulder.
“I am so sorry about this Amalia, but this boy is a danger to all of us” the man explained, in an attempt to comfort her.
I looked Amy in the eyes, and she looked as if she was about to burst into tears.
“You must be… that old bat of an uncle she mentioned” I hissed at him.
“What did you say?” the man spat.
“You heard me, Count Dracula, seriously, what’s with that getup? You look like a walking Halloween costume advertisement” I chuckled.
“Dracula? What nonsense” he scoffed, before kneeling down and pulling me by my hair to prop my head up. “My name is Lucius Grigorov, and you would do well to remember that, you murdering demon scum.”
“Demon? What are you on about? I’m a vampire like you, your little princess over there made me one when I tried to save her from committing suicide” I growled. “And I only killed bad people, pedophiles, murderers; how many innocents have you killed Lucy?”
“Zero, for Moonwisp provides us vampires, of which you are not, with blood without any killing involved” Lucius hissed.
“How did you find me? Did she rat me out?” I inquired.
“No, Amalia had nothing to do with it; you were sold out by another” Lucius sneered.
“Who could have possibly sold me out if not her?” I asked, confused.
I heard more footsteps, and looked up to see my uncle Gabe Fox enter the room.
“You have my gratitude for your assistance Gabriel” Lucius said to my uncle.
“Anytime, Lucius” my uncle replied nonchalantly, shaking Lucius’ hand. “This should have happened sooner.”
What the fuck? My uncle, the man who had raised me… was the one who sold me out on being a supernatural being? But how? Then I remembered, my cousin Megan had saw me with Amy, the missing girl, she could have called my uncle and he could have learned of me harbouring a missing person. But why was he acting so friendly with Lucius? How did he know what I was?
Then I remembered how my uncle had held a pillow above my head when I was recovering from the accident, ready to suffocate me. But… why? I didn’t understand.
Before I could say anything else, one of the armed soldiers struck me in the back of the head with the hilt of his gun, knocking me unconscious.

What a finale! That was really awesome, so well done, I loved it! Like I said, I may not root for Tim but I knew he'd be a really awesome and complex character. I wonder what'll happen to him now... will he be punished or offered a chance at redemption? I suspect that this group from Moonwisp fake his death. I was honestly surprised by his regret and that in a moment of weakness he begged Amy to kill her. Though I fear his God Complex will continue to grow. "You're just a human" Speaking of Amy, I'm really worried about her, reunited with a man she wants nothing to do with, though it's unclear why at the moment. btw that was an awesome and fitting song to end the chapter. I love Skillet. Anyway, this was a phenomenal part. Excited for what comes next!

There's actually one more part to go before this chapter is over, although it won't be as action -packed as the previous two parts and it will be set in the "present" as parts 1-11 were basically Tim and Hunter explaining what had happened to them. And yeah, once I heard the lyrics for Monster I knew I had to use this song. It's kind of a ironic though, since Skillet is a Christian band and Tim is a not so Christian being.

Hmmm, this explains a lot! I did not see this coming and previously, I actually thought that Tim's entire storyline would be set in the past. It seems he and Hunter will now both be in the same timeline, albeit I am curious how he will be when we see him the next time. If their storylines will take place during the same timeline, then six months will have passed until we will see him again and a lot can happen there.
Now, you definitely smashed my expectations here. I suppose it is only natural that I got to some very specific conclusions about the demon, due to what happened in the original story, but I never would have thought that this is actually Tim. I... kinda doubt that is a vampiric trait, but it might hint at something darker at work. But Tim was phenomenal in this part, how he somehow remained sympathetic even when he took things way too far. Not with Jimmy though, I gotta clarify that he is easily the least likeable character in the entire story and he got what he deserved. But Tim, oh my god, I am worried for him. Amy tried to put him onto the right path and she failed thoroughly, especially given that she got her own problems to take care of, but over the course of this chapter, he really descended into darkness. At the same time, he is still able to feel regret. When he begged Amy to kill him, that was a powerful scene and it shows that he might not be too far gone. Maybe Moonwisp is going to be a good place for him, where he can recover and learn how to control this darker side of his. But whatever this darker side is, I really doubt it has anything to do with him being a vampire.
Also, Lucius! Hooo, I did not expect him to appear here, but I am more than happy he did. I really enjoyed how the relationships between Tim, Amy and Lucius worked out here, with how Tim switched between being super vulnerable with Amy to outright snarking at the elder vampire, that was great. I look forward for more of them, Tim and Lucius seem like they'll make quite the odd duo.

Rebirth: Part 12
Tim Fox
“You can stop now Percy” said the interrogator.
Tim suddenly felt as though a big weight had been lifted from his shoulders. It had been weeks, perhaps even months since the fire at the school. Tim had spent all of the time since then is this dark interrogation room, strapped and restrained to a chair. They had intimidated him, tortured him, anything to make him tell them what had happened, yet Tim had remained silent and endured it all… until now.
Beaten and bloody, Tim weakly turned his head up to the man who had been his interrogator, who wore the same gear as the Moonwisp soldiers who had apprehended him, and the sorcerer that stood beside him. It was thanks to this sorcerer that they now knew every one of his little secrets. This sorcerer, who was known as Percival Ronan (although preferred to go by “Percy”) was apparently one of Moonwisp’s most powerful users of magic, and had apparently recently returned from some sort of world expedition. They had tried utilizing the abilities of many sorcerers on Tim to make him spill the beans, even warlocks, but before Percy none of them could even make a dent on the pure will that Tim used to resist them.
“Percy Ronan” Tim thought, staring curiously at the wizard. “You must truly be something special.”
“Well, looks like you have been a very naughty boy Timmy” the interrogator mocked.
Tim did nothing but glare at the man before him. He was an ordinary human, Tim could tell just by smelling him. The blood that ran through that man’s veins was pure, it lacked the vampiric venom that coursed through Amy’s and Lucius’, and the magic through Percy’s.
“What is a human doing with these supernatural beings?” Tim thought.
“You may go now Percy” the interrogator said to the sorcerer, who nodded in response and left the dimly- lit room.
“Who are you?” Tim asked his interrogator.
“Me? I’m John Ramsey, captain of the Moonwisp guard” the interrogator replied.
“You’re human, what’s a human doing on an island of supernatural creatures?” Tim inquired.
“Well, the government wanted an unbiased security on Moonwisp, one that would ensure that the existence of the supernatural would never bleed into humanity” Ramsey explained.
Ramsey took note of the confused expression upon Tim’s face.
“What? You thought you freaks were living in secrecy?” Ramsey chuckled. “Nah, Moonwisp is one big government operation to keep you monsters away from humans and to prevent you from preying on innocent folk.”
“What stops them from rebelling?” Tim asked. “You’re just a bunch of weak and pathetic humans.”
Ramsey shook his head. He then got up from his and pulled out two pistols and laid them on the table.
“You see this one here?” he asked, pointing to the gun to his right. “It’s loaded with silver bullets, it will kill any werewolf instantly.”
Ramsey then pointed to the gun to his left.
“This beauty is loaded with Ultraviolet bullets, which will make those vampires go bye bye in seconds” he smirked.
Ramsey stared at Tim for a moment.
“Most of the other beings in Moonwisp can be easily killed regular bullets” Ramsey continued, before pointing at Tim. “But you demons are definitely the toughest fuckers out there.”
“You must be mistaken, for I am a vampire, not a demon” Tim rebuked.
“Oh really?” Ramsey said. “Open the roof!”
The roof opened, and a ray of sunlight shone through, the first sunlight Tim had seen in a while. Tim braced himself for horrific burning, but instead the sunlight merely warmed his skin.
“Then explain to me why you aren’t burning to a crisp right now” Ramsey asked, a mocking grin on his face.
Tim was at a loss for words. There were very few sunny days during the English winter that Tim believed he had spent as a vampire, and the few sunny days that actually took place both he and Amy slept in until evening with every curtain closed.
Suddenly, Tim felt his mouth being pried open, and a vial of an unknown red liquid was poured down his throat by Ramsey. It tasted different to the human blood he had tasted from Charles Thompson and Jimmy Ferguson. It wasn’t as tasty, and didn’t feel as pure to Tim. It slightly healed the bruises and cuts Tim had received from John’s beatings and torture methods.
“If you were a vampire, you would be violently choking to death right now, for that is werewolf blood you have just drunk” Ramsey explained.
“But… blood still tastes delicious to me!” Tim retorted, confused.
“Of course it would to a demon, the vampires get their little bloodlust from your kind, as vampires are descended from demons” Ramsey said.
“Then how come I only had these powers after a vampire bit me?” Tim inquired.
“The lorry that almost killed you, your demonic powers were likely dormant within you from birth and were forced to awaken from your near-death experience” Ramsey explained. “The vampire bite did nothing to you except give you another set of scars.”
A horrible realization hit Tim.
“From birth… then does that mean… my father was a demon?” Tim asked, horrified.
“Or your mother, but from what you told me your mother was likely human, which makes you only half-demon, but still a massive threat to humanity no less” Ramsey spat.
Tim thought about his mother. Did she truly conceive him from a demon? Tim felt sick when he thought that perhaps his mother’s relations to the demon might not have been consensual, and he could be a product of rape.
Tim let out an audible gasp as he remembered how his mother died in a house fire. Tim had set an entire school on fire by accident in a fit of rage and an attempt at self-preservation from Jimmy. He thought about how it could have been possible that as an infant he could have accidentally caused the house fire in a tantrum.
“Did I kill my own mother?” Tim thought, as tears swelled up in his eyes.
Tim began to cry, looking down from John Ramsey and sobbing into his own lap.
“You must be a half-demon after all, full demons do not feel sadness” said Ramsey.
“What about the fire, is that a demon thing too?” Tim wept.
“A lot of the higher ranking demons do have a natural talent for pyromancy” Ramsey replied.
Tim couldn’t take it anymore, he let out a demonic roar and a few embers flickered all over his body.
“Don’t think your little demonic powers will work here, this is a magic-suppression chamber” Ramsey chuckled.
After a few minutes of silence, Tim began to calm down.
“So, what now? Are you going to kill me, or will I join your little prison you call Moonwisp” Tim asked in a monotone voice.
Ramsey laughed even louder than he had prior.
“Moonwisp, a prison? Supernaturals who abide by our rules and do well in keeping their existence a secret from humanity may live a life of freedom and privilege on the island, and may even be allowed to take personal vacations all around the world” Ramsey cackled.
Ramsey then scowled at Tim.
“It is too good a place for a murdering monster like you, and so is the sweet embrace of death” Ramsey hissed. “No, we have someplace special for troublemakers like you.”
“And where is that?” Tim questioned.
“Velgourne Prison” Ramsey sneered, before striking Tim in the head with the butt of his gun, knocking him unconscious once more.
? ? ?
Gabe Fox sat at the kitchen table, staring at the speck of his nephew’s blood on the tiled floor, from where one of the armed soldiers had struck him.
“Demonic blood” Gabe thought.
The front door suddenly opened, and Gabe’s wife Janet and his stepdaughter Megan walked through the door.
“Showtime” Gabe thought, rubbing his tear ducts to produce tears.
“Gabe, what’s wrong? Why are you crying?” his wife asked him.
Gabe produced a false sniffle.
“It’s… it’s Tim” Gabe cried, acting out a fake sob.
“What’s happened” Megan asked.
“There was a fire at his school… it killed about twenty people… and one of them was Tim” Gabe explained, still putting on the act of being sad over his nephew’s “demise.”
“No, that’s not possible” his wife cried.
“I was so mean to him the last time we spoke” Megan wailed.
Gabe pulled both of the weeping women into a hug.
“He’s in a better place now, I’m certain of it” Gabe assured them in an attempt to comfort them both.
A sinister smirk stretched across his face.
Hunter Woods
“That’s everything?” the man who had introduced himself as John Ramsey asked Hunter.
“Yeah, that’s it” Hunter replied, having finished willingly giving his recount of his werewolf trouble back in Nottinghamshire.
“Alright, thanks buddy” John Ramsey smiled. “How’s the arm by the way?”
“It still hurts like hell” Hunter grunted, looking at the bandaged and bloody limb.
“Don’t worry, I’ll let you rest again once we get into the community” Ramsey said, trying to comfort Hunter. “I may not be too fond of too many of you supernaturals, but I do have a special sympathy for you werewolves, you’re just normal people with an unfortunate disease.”
“Am I really going to live in this community? I killed people” Hunter asked.
“You are not responsible for the lives you took in werewolf form” Ramsey replied.
“But my father” Hunter murmured, remembering his father’s brutal and sudden end.
“Eh, you weren’t a werewolf back then, so it ain’t our concern, and it was an accident, right?” Ramsey asked.
Hunter nodded.
“Alright, that should be it, here, give me your arm, I’ll help you get to your new home” said Ramsey.
“Thanks” Hunter replied, allowing Ramsey to put his arm around him and help him through the door and outside.
As they walked through the street in the late evening, Hunter swore he could see small humanoids with wings flying around, tall people with pointy ear ears passing by him and Ramsey, and even half-men half-horses trotting on the roads. Hunter recognized Jason Lunar and his father Don Lunar talking to each other outside what Hunter assumed to be another pub. Jason gave Hunter a friendly smile upon seeing him, while Don gave him a curious look. As Hunter and Ramsey neared closer to Hunter’s new home, Hunter saw a tall pale-looking man with black hair and a girl around Hunter’s age who looked similar to the tall man walking beside. They passed a café, and Hunter saw an older man, a younger man near Hunter’s age and a young woman sat at a table. Hunter assumed at first they were ordinary humans, until the older man did some kind of magic trick that would have made Hunter’s jaw drop if the wounds he sustained from werewolf Gerald weren’t hurting him so much.
“What did you say this place was called again?” Hunter asked Ramsey.
“Moonwisp” Ramsey responded. “A place where supernatural beings can live in peace and safety.”

Odessa ran as fast as she could. Something was after her. She couldn’t see it, she could barely hear it, but she could feel its presence. She could feel getting it nearer and nearer. She could feel the vibrations on the ground becoming more and more intense. She had to get out of the forest, back to the main town of Moonwisp. Not even the nature magic she had inherited from her elven ancestry could protect from this being.
As she began to run out breath, her hopes of getting to safety began to diminish. She suddenly tripped to the ground, and turned to examine her surroundings. She could not feel it chasing her anymore. No, now it was circling her. Too fatigued to run away for much longer, she decided to close her eyes and spend her last remaining moments of life focusing on her friends and family, and her memories of them.
It began to growl monstrously, and Odessa knew now that her time was up.
It lunged at her, and her thoughts and memories soon turned to nothingness.
END OF CHAPTER 1: REBIRTH
Achievement(s) unlocked:
"First of the year": Tim killed the child predator

Next time on Urban Legend
“Percy, the body of an elven girl was found early this morning, ripped apart by some unknown being” Ramsey explained.
“I’m guessing you want me to investigate?” Percy sighed. “I’ve just come back from holiday dammit.”
“Due to your expertise in monster hunting, we can’t think of a better man for the job” Ramsey smirked.

“When I’m gone you will become the new Alpha and the pack will be yours to lead, Jason” said Don.
“You’ve made this clear countless times before, father” Jason sighed.
“Well it’s time you get a taste of what it’s like to be faced with tough decisions and for you to start earning your keep, so I want you to do a few odd jobs for me” Don explained.
“Like what?” Jason inquired.
“Those Desdits owe me some money” Don sneered. “Make them repay their debt no matter what, even if you have to break a few bones.”

“I know I will never replace your parents Amy, but I hope one day you will be able to see me as family” Lucius smiled.
Amy said nothing, still hating the man for turning her into a vampire and not allowing her to die with her parents.
“Why don’t you go out there and make some friends? I’m sure there are many out there who would love to hear what human society is like” Lucius suggested. “But avoid those Lunars at any cost, they are nothing but crooks.”
_______________________________________________________
“You think Moonwisp is some sort of haven, Hunter?” Don scoffed. “It’s just one big fucking hunting ground, so why not have the biggest and baddest wolf of them all having your back?”
“What are you suggesting?” Hunter asked.
“Allow me to formally invite you to the Lunar Brotherhood werewolf pack” Don smiled, which was the first time Hunter had ever seen the man do so, as he extended his open palm towards Hunter. “What do you say?”

“Name’s Johnny, I guess we’re cellmates now” the vulgar man grinned.
“Hi, I guess” Tim said awkwardly.
“I know what you are Tim, and I can help you if you want” Johnny smiled.
“How could you possibly help me?” Tim inquired.
“Because I’m like you” Johnny chuckled, before turning around to reveal his eyes were now glowing bright orange, and his fiendish grin now filled with bladelike teeth. “I’m a half-demon too.”

Oh, you tease! Hype! 1) Despite my reservations with him, I have to admit it's definitely Tim. 2) Nobody really comes to mind. 3) Again, it'd be Tim. 4) It's gotta be when Tim confronted Jimmy and first unleashed his demon form. "And you're... just a human." was a pretty chilling line. Plus following that we witnessed Tim's regret and break down. 5) Definitely Jason and the Desdit's for obvious reasons. 6) Don't really know in a grand scheme. But I do really like dark storylines as good people slowly go a bit off the deep end. 7) I was thinking Amy but actually I'm gonna say Hunter. Genuinely good dude who's becoming a monster against his will. 8) Depends on if Tim is being honest or pulling the fake persona he had with Amy so she wouldn't be scared of him. Hunter might like him but internally I think Tim would really disrespect him, perhaps he'd feel 'too human' to him. If Tim is genuine and honest than Hunter probably wouldn't like him. Might even be afraid of him. 9) This is a tough one... but I'm gonna go with Tim. I do really like Hunterr though. My stance may change but at the moment Tim is just a really exciting character with a good story. 10) Devilspawn, it's sounds really cool and ominous.

Alternate choice(s):
As this chapter was mainly supposed to set up the rest of the story, there was only one choice for this chapter, although I can confirm there will be many choices in later chapters and they can even determine the fates of the main characters, even the PoVs.
[Let him go]
Although it may seem to be a minor choice affecting only the fate of a minor character at first glance, this is actually a pretty big choice, affecting both Tim's storyline in Chapter 1 and future chapters. Tim would have spared Thompson, but not before beating him to a pulp first and using blackmail and threats to ensure he keeps his mouth shut about what happened. As a mentally unstable teenager, killing the man actually had a large impact on Tim, as he felt a surge of power and superiority from taking the life of a human being.
Although it might have been better for Tim to not become a murderer at first, he would not have had any blood to feed both himself and Amy, which would have affected them both in later parts. Amy at first would have been relieved that Tim hadn't killed anyone for her, but would have also been disappointed that she would still have to endure the pains she experienced from her hunger. Tim would have never experienced any hunger pains however, as he is a demon and not a vampire, and could still live off human food. Blood only makes Tim and other demons more powerful, and he does not require it as sustenance, although he can use it as an alternative to eating food and live off a diet of only human blood.
Amy would have attempted suicide again, unable to take the pain any longer, but would have been stopped by Tim once more. She would have also lost control at one point and attacked someone, in somewhat of a role reversal from Part 9, but Tim have stopped her from killing someone.
Probably the biggest change to the chapter with this choice is Tim's quarrel with the Ferguson brothers. Tim would have accidentally injured Tommy, although Tim would have reacted in a more shocked way than his obvious satisfaction with what he did in the story. Jimmy and Tommy would have still broke into Tim's house with Jimmy intending to torture Tim and break his legs, and would have still killed Billy the dog. However in Tim's final confrontation with Jimmy, he would have not transformed into his demon form, but still would have accidentally set the school on fire and gotten the other kids killed. Tim would have exchanged some last hateful words with Jimmy, before turning around and leaving Jimmy to burn to death in the fire.
Both Tim and John Ramsey would have still believed Tim to be a vampire, although he would still be sent to Velgourne Prison for the deaths of Jimmy and the kids who died in the fire. The effect this would have in future chapters is something that will be revealed later on.
Overall I'm glad the [Kill him for his blood] choice won as writing the demon transformation part was a blast.

And so it begins! I mean, the chapter ends, but it feels the true story is just about to begin. I see some similarities for the original Midnight Hollow here, so I am curious how much it will resemble the original story. It means, I am quite scared and excited for some things to come, at the same time I am pretty certain they won't come and that things will be much different. They were different so far, but I see the Odessa is back (and already gone again), so that makes me wonder just how much will be kept, or reappear in different ways. At the same time, I do hope for a different story in general, maybe just aspects and themes to return, as I at least have read the original already.
1) Favourite character of Chapter 1?
Tim... Amalia... Hunter... Can I name all three of them? They were kinda the most important ones in this chapter and they definitely made the biggest impression. I like all three of them and I definitely look forward for how they develop.
2) Least favourite character of Chapter 1?
That Jimmy guy, holy crap! Easily the least likeable character of them all. I believe Tim called himself a sociopath early on, but creepiness aside, he shows plenty of concern still, as seen with his breakdown and his general concern for how Amy feels and thinks about him. But Jimmy? That guy is a sociopath. Murdered Tim's dog for no reason and brags about it to hurt him, effectively tried to murder Tim when he was confronted about it and even then, he was merely concerned about having to spend time in jail. Sure, the chapter finale was horrifying, but that one guy, he had it coming.
3) Favourite PoV of Chapter 1?
I'm going with Tim here. Hunter has been a great and likeable character, but it feels like we have spent more time with Tim, gotten to see more significant events through him and have generally seen him going through more personal stuff when compared to Hunter. So, I think he had the better storyline here, but as a character I like both the same.
4) Favourite moment of Chapter 1?
That Tim part when he unleashed his half-demon form, oh my god! His following breakdown and urging Amy to kill him was just the icing on the cake, that part was thrilling and my favourite in this chapter. Also, I was weirdly entertained when Amy slapped Tim for attacking an innocent girl. Scared he'd rip her to pieces, but weirdly entertained.
5) What storyline are you looking forward to most in Chapter 2?
Do I see this correctly, there is an Amy storyline in Chapter 2? It sure seemed that way from the preview. Tim is also someone I greatly look forward for, with him meeting another half-demon, probably the devil on his shoulder, if I had to guess.
6) What do you want to see in the story as a whole?
Nothing in particular, to be honest. I love what you have done so far, so I am excited for what is in store and there is no specific theme or topic I absolutely want to see tackled, just do your thing and I know it will work out. I would say, this story is your best work so far and I am enjoying it immensely and you know how much I enjoyed some of your previous stories.
7) What character did you feel most sympathy for?
Hm, not Tim, actually, even if he is not unlikeable either. Hunter and Amy are the most sympathetic characters so far, I'd say. Both have this reluctant monster angle going for them and we spent a lot of time getting to know their thoughts and fears, so I really sympathize with them.
8) How do you think Tim and Hunter would get along if they met?
Hmmmm, I think they wouldn't get along very well, maybe not at first, but I don't think they can have a lasting friendship. Tim fully embracing his vampiric side and Hunter really not being on board with the whole werewolf thing makes them just too different. However, I don't think things have to end in hatred, if there is a greater threat around I could see both of them ending up on the same side.
9) If they ever faced off, Team Tim or Team Hunter?
I am a biased fuck, so the team Amalia is on. Sure, she's had more to do with Tim so far and he clearly appreciates her, but the finale did see a pretty significant hit to their relationship, so I don't think it is unthinkable to believe she won't exactly be part of his team, going forward, whereas her status as a reluctant vampire and Hunter's status as a reluctant werewolf could make for more of an understanding. If she's neutral... Team Tim, probably. He is my favourite PoV, after all.
10) Out of the titles of the future chapters (Moonwisp, Wildheart, Devilspawn, Cataclysm) which title interests you the most?
If they are anything like the original story, chapters 4 and 5 will be insane, with 5 having a slight edge. As it is, I suppose some things will change, a lot probably. Name-wise, I still go with Cataclysm. Sounds like the big, epic finale and with this story, I just know it will be great.
