Welcome to Forum Werewolf - HavenI am LiquidChicagoTed and I will be your host for this game. What is Forum Werewolf, you may ask? Well, it will be the very first forum game of our new community. Not quite a story, it will be similar to the popular Town of Salem or Werewolf games some of you might have already heard of. In this forum game, the players will be split into two factions, the villagers and the wolves. Working against each other, one faction can only win if every member of the other faction has been eliminated. The villagers are large in number, with many diverse roles to give them an advantage. However, notably distrustful, nobody knows of anyone's identity but their own. Sure, they know they themselves are a villager, but even their next door neighbour can be a bloodthirsty werewolf already. The werewolves are fewer in numbers, but work as a pack. Knowing of each others identity from the very beginning, they can support each other to assure their victory, yet any loss they suffer weighs more heavily compared to the villagers. Active communication between them is encouraged. The game is divided into day and night cycles. During the day, the villagers gather in the market square, to discuss the events of the nights. The werewolves gather among them, disguised as villagers, able to influence the discussion to their favour, at the risk of being discovered by the crowd they seek to mislead. The villagers know that a certain number of them consists of werewolves, yet they do not know their true identities, at least not at first. Through specific actions during the night, or clever deduction during the day, they might be able to find out who the true wolves are, though that still raises the issue of them having to convince their fellow villagers of the wolves' identity. Knowing they have little option but to hang those they consider werewolves, the gathered villagers (among them the werewolves themselves) vote for one villager every day to be lynched. The accused gets a chance to defend themselves, after which their fate is decided by a simple majority deciding either in favour or against their execution. After their death, their role will be revealed and the villagers will know if they either lynched one of their own or managed to get one step closer to victory. Of course, the wolves can use this discussion to accuse someone they know to be innocent, in the hopes of getting a villager hanged. During the night, most players have a role that gives them a certain action. This applies to the villagers, as well as to the werewolves. For example, a player who has ben assigned the guardsman role can use his nightly action to protect a specific player from another player's attack, while the seer can learn of one players role during the night. The werewolves decide on one victim to kill each night. These actions are made in private, by sending me messages about what you wish to do. The werewolves should also actively communicate in private messages on their course of action. Once the players have made their decisions, the night ends and the day begins again, where the events of the past night are revealed to the villagers, starting the abovementioned day phase, with its discussion and potential lynching. This repeats until either team is wiped out. Most of the players can only win if their own team wins, though there might be specific victory conditions for special roles. Now, let me set the mood by talking about the setting of our little game: The northern border of the kingdom is a cold region, surrounded by dark tales of monsters, wolves who walk as men during the day. Most of these tales are probably just meant to scare children. What is certain is, it's a harsh land only few have dared to journey through. Now however, as the kingdom grows in numbers, people are actively encouraged to leave their overcrowded cities, to find a new home in the barely inhabited border regions. The crown hopes to ultimately strengthen these regions and the kingdom as a whole. Bold explorers venture forth, founding new villages with the sizeable amount of coin the crown offers them for the expected hardships. Some of these villages will grow into successful cities of their own, slowly putting an end to the wild, lawless aspects of the northern regions. Others, however, may encounter that there are hardships worse than what any of them prepared for. In the end, as they are about to find out, some of the old stories may be more than fairytales.Enter the newly founded village of Haven. Following the promise of riches, a ragtag group of colonists has built up a number of houses. Life is hard in this cold region, but they thought they knew what they signed up for. There were just two things nobody expected. First, their new village has actually been built on the territory of a small pack of werewolves. Angry at the intrusion, the wolves have infiltrated the village over the past weeks, arriving one by one under the disguise of a new villager, waiting for the perfect moment to strike. Second, this moment comes when the massive snowfall sets in. For several weeks, Haven will be cut off from the rest of the kingdom. The werewolves use this opportunity, as they make their first move. They know, it won't be easy, there might be losses, but they are determined to win back their territory, at least as determined as the villagers are to defend their new home.
Ahem, so far, so good. In practice, this means everyone is invited to join the fun. Just comment here in the thread and I shall include you in the list. Once we have enough players, I will randomly assign each of you a role in secret (some of them variations of classic Werewolf roles, though I might come up with roles of my own if I consider it fitting), placing you either in Team Werewolf or Team Villager, while giving you a handful of tips on how to perform in your role, so that even complete newcomers to these types of games won't have a disadvantage. I will set the mood during the beginning and end of the day through a small snippet of writing, detailing the events in the village of Haven, before you get the opportunity to use your actions during the night or discuss with the rest of the players during the day. Beyond this, I am always available to help you out if you have a question. Make sure you trust the right person, as the werewolves will discuss among you, knowing fully well who the members of their pack are. Trickery is encouraged, lying about your role can be an effective and legitimate tool to gain an advantage, though for the sake of fairness, please don't cheat by sabotaging the efforts of your own team on purpose. Ah, I liked playing Town of Salem, but it's been a while since I last checked it out. Now there are vampires, some kind of DLC and whatnot. Welp.
Anyway, count me in.

Ah, the vampires and the DLC roles are actually quite fun after getting past the initial confusion. Really spice the game up a bit if the old roles grow stale, especially if you have Town, Mafia, Coven and Vampires in one game while there's a Serial Killer trying to get rid of all of them. The chaos can be delightful, but for the sake of keeping things simple with regards of many here playing for the first time and some roles really not translating well to the fully text-based nature of the forums, Haven wil only have Villagers and Werewolves for this first round. I do intend to gain some inspiration from the classic Town of Salem roles (think Doctor, Bodyguard, Sherrif and so on), but with occasionally slightly different mechanics. And with you, we are now 13 interested players. I got into some brief planning today about the roles and I think I came up with some interesting stuff. I'll probably make a post describing the roles and how they work to everyone before we start. To start, I'd say we should be at least 15 players, but if more want to join, it'll be easily possible to expand on what I have planned already.

I don't have Coven (I'm cheap and the game has been lagging every time I've played recently), but I must say, I love when playing Town of Salem with Mafia vs. Neutrals. Every time I make a game I make a role list using it, otherwise I scream for it in the chat. I get usually 4, sometimes 5 mafia, with a godfather of course, a confirmed werewolf, arsonist, serial killer, witch, vampire, and then all random neutrals. Or, I'll do add an executioner and a lone transporter then the rest random neutrals. It's absolutely chaotic but it's so fun.

And with LilGoodWolf, we have found our 15th player! While the game technically can work for more and I definitely have enough ideas for roles, 15 is the number I wanted to reach at least. This means, if you're all up for it, we can start! Since I won't be around for a majority of tomorrow until the evening, I'd say more users can join up until that moment. You're all still welcome, regardless if we end up being 16, 17 or 18 players, but this will be the last chance to join for this first game.
But tomorrow once I get the time, I will close the joining process and give you an overview of the roles. Immediately after that, I'll assign each of the players a role and while no two roles will be alike, the process of assigning them will be completely at random.

Alright then, with madsinzero, we are 16 players and I'd say that is a great number. After this post, none can join for this round, but if this turns out to be fun, I imagine there will be a second round at some point in the future So yeah, I'm going to use this opportunity to tell you something about the roles each of you can get. There's 16 different roles and right after this post, I will randomly assign one of them to each of you. They are divided into 9 village roles, 4 neutral roles and 3 werewolf roles. Keep in mind, this is the first time I am hosting a game for 16 players, so I hope the role distribution is going to be balanced. Without further ado, let us start with the role descriptions. Villagers:The MayorYou are the newest arrival to the village, arriving just before the heavy snowfall cut Haven off from the rest of the world for the next couple of weeks. The villagers don't know it yet, but by royal decree you are to be their mayor, a reward for your faithful service to the crown. Immediately after arriving, you sensed that something was off and as such, you decided to keep your identity a secret for now, waiting for the right moment to reveal yourself and take leadership over the villagers when they need it the most.As the mayor, you are one of the few roles without any night ability. Initially, nobody knows about your position, but you get the opportunity to publically reveal your role at any point during any day phase. Should you do that, I will confirm your claim to dispel any doubt. This makes you the single most important member of the village in an instant, because as mayor, your vote during the lynching will be worth three times the vote of any other villager, neutral role or werewolf. This can significantly turn the tides in favour of the village if you use your power wisely. Naturally, it also makes you the greatest target once revealed, so the protective roles should focus on you once you revealed your role. The PreacherUnlike many members of the clergy back in the capital, you have never been one to just preach with words, but instead, you prefer to act. With a desire to provide guidance to those who need it the most, you have volunteered to be sent north, to the remote village of Haven. You arrived there, though with everything that has been going on, you haven't gotten around to properly introduce yourself. Perhaps for the better, as you realize now, because by hiding your identity, you might have it easier to provide exactly the help the innocent villagers need in this moment. The preacher is a role with one action each day and one each night. During the day, you can send me a message, naming one player you wish to invite to Haven's church. The player in question will not learn of your identity in this case. They get a chance to confess to you, which effectively means they can reveal their role to you, though it should be noted that a werewolf could use the opportunity to lie to you. Such a conversation will be handled through me (means I ask the invited player what role they claim to be and reveal their claim to the preacher, both in separated private messages to protect the preacher's identity). A player invited to your church will be save from any nightly attack, but they will be similarly unable to use their nightly ability, which means you can effectively roleblock them. Anyone visiting your target at night will be informed that they were not at home. Once during the game, you can bestow a blessing onto any single player, which will protect them from a single nightly attack. However, you should be careful, as the Outcast will kill you if you invite them to your church on nights where they can kill, though in this case they won't get to choose another victim. The GuardA veteran of the capitals city guard, you have stepped down from your position to avoid all the trouble and danger of larger cities. Haven was planned to be the place where you can peacefully live to the end of your days. The arrival of the werewolves ruins this plan, so reluctantly, you pick up your sword and your old shield to protect the villagers of Haven from this new threat. The guard is a farely straightforward role. At night, you get the option to protect a single player from harm. Anyone who tries to attack them has to go through you first. In practice, this means that should the player on the receiving end of your protection be attacked on the night where you choose to protect them, they will survive the attack. However, you will take it instead and unless you have received the blessing of the priest or the attention of the doctor for that night, you will die. To balance this out, you will also manage to take the attacker with you. Of course, you can also unwittingly protect one of the village's enemies, so you should choose carefully whom you wish to protect. Once during the game, you can choose not to protect anybody. Instead, you can protect yourself with your old shield. This works only once and your shield will be lost even if you won't be attacked on that night. The HunterBefore the werewolves disturbed the peace in your village, your profession was exactly that, you were a hunter, a capable marksman hunting for game in the woods around the village, hailing from a long lineage of hunters. It was a fairly simple work, but you were good at it. Now, you hear reports of werewolves attacking innocent villagers, targeting your neighbours and potentially even you. Even worse, you don't know whom you can still trust. But enough is enough! You have had it with these motherfucking werewolves in this motherfucking village! Armed only with your crossbow and three silver bolts that have been passed down your family for generations, you set out at night, knowing exactly whom to shoot to protect the village... don't you?As the hunter, you can either be the greatest ally the village has, or its downfall. After the first night, you get the ability to shoot any single player you consider suspicious. You don't have to shoot anyone if you have your doubts, but you can shoot a maximum of three players during the game, as you only have three silver crossbow bolts for the wolves. Shooting a player will kill them unless they have any sort of protection for this night. While you can use your power to kill werewolves, you can potentially kill your own allies if you are not careful. The only exception is a target protected by the Guard. In this case, you will be notified that your target is protected, you will not take the shot, not lose a bolt and kill neither your target nor the guard, nor will you be killed by the guard in return. The DoctorFormerly a field surgeon, you have seen the worst kind of injuries there are, you have brought back people from the brink of death and have performed scientific miracles. A prodigy in your profession, you have unfortunately made a single mistake, leading to you failing to save an important client's life. To avoid potential revenge from your clients family, you have fled north, hoping to remain in Haven until things get easier back home, keeping a generally low profile in a hopefully peacefully village. That is until bodies show up, horribly mauled by what seem to be giant wolves. Equally intrigued and repulsed, you decide to take action against this unexpected enemy. You are not a fighter, but with your medical skill, you know you can save lives.Another simple role, the Doctor works similarly to the guard, with a selected few key differences. Each night, you choose one target to heal. Healing a target protects them from any attempt to kill them during that night. Unlike the guard, you will not attack the one trying to kill your target, nor will you be attacked in return. If you successfully saved a target, both of you will be notified of what happened, though your identity will not be revealed. Unfortunately, surgeries on yourself are quite risky and you can only pull it off successfully once, meaning you can only target yourself a single time. The ThiefYou are not a bad guy, you swear. Formerly a petty thief with a kleptomaniac streak, you had the genuine desire to change your life, making the long way to Haven with the genuine desire to never steal again. Unfortunately, old habits die hard. That being said, with the werewolves attacking innocent villagers, maybe your abilities can be useful to them for once. You know how to enter a building without being seen. By looking for specific items to steal, you might be able to uncover secrets about your neighbours and perhaps, just perhaps, you will be able to find out who the werewolves are before it is too late. That is, if you can get the villagers to believe you.Contrary to what you might think, the thief is firmly on the side of the villagers, even if they might not know it. Every night, you can break into someone's house, stealing three random items. These items each give you a clue on the players' role. In practice, it means I tell you what you found and each items hints at one possible role. Among these three will definitely be the players actual role, alongside two other random roles from the other two categories. For example, if you break into the doctors house, you steal a first aid kit, hinting at their true role, but also one item hinting at them being a werewolf and one item hinting at them having a neutral role (with me spelling the three options out for you, so you don't have to guess what they could mean). By watching the players behaviour during the day phase, you might be able to get an idea on which of these three potential roles is the real one. For those who have played Town of Salem, the thief is basically Haven's version of the Investigator. The VeteranFor years you have fought for the kingdom, you have killed and have almost been killed in return. After a heavy injury, you were released from active service, showered with praise and coin and expected to just return to a normal life. This turned out to be impossible for you, so you gave everything up to travel north, hoping to find some peace and solitude in Haven. Unfortunately, people still bother you. You can deal with them, aye, but the wolves? They are something else entirely. Luckily, you have some old army supplies and you know just how to use them. Perhaps in time, you can teach these irreverent punks to get off your lawn!As the Veteran, you are technically an ally to the village, but just like the Hunter, you can either be a great asset, or a danger to your own team. Three times during the game, you can choose to take your army supplies and be on alert for the night phase. If you are on alert, you will kill every player who visits your house. This can be someone trying to kill you, but also someone from your team trying to investigate you. Once on alert, you will also be protected from any attack aside from the Outcasts', though you are also the only one capable of killing the Outcast at night in return. If you are not on alert, you won't be protected and can be normally investigated or killed by anyone visiting you. The ScoutYou are a secretive member of the village and you like it that way. Paranoid to be caught by old enemies, you conceal your true past. Sometimes, you claim to be a former army scout. At other times, you claim to be a disgraced spy. Yet at other times, you claim to be a former informant for a group of criminals. Whatever the truth is, you have acquired a very particular set of investigative skills. Paired with your desire to remain a step ahead of potential enemies, you use them to uncover suspicious behaviour among your supposed allies. As the scout, you can investigate any single target during the night phase. This won't tell you their exact role, nor will it give you hints on their nature, but it will tell you if they are suspicious. A suspicious target is highly likely to be an enemy to the village. Unfortunately, the village roles of the witch and the thief, as well as the neutral role of the amnesiac are also suspicious to you due to their generally untrustworthy roles. As such, while there is a chance that a player you uncover as suspicious is a member of the werewolf pack or the Outcast, there remains a certain chance that they are actually an ally or at least neutral to your team. The WitchPeople easily fear what they don't understand. Anyone interested in collecting herbs, while also showing a mild curiosity about magic can be labelled a witch these days, or perhaps a warlock. This comes with prejudice about evil witches, who eat babies and curse innocent villagers. You are not one of these. Okay, you admit, maybe you have cursed someone that one time, but they had it coming! No, you might be a witch, but you are not all that bad, despite how suspicious you might seem. Instead, your knowledge on the arcane arts might finally come in handy, now that werewolves threaten Haven. The witch is a unique role with heavy utility. As the witch, you have access to three potions, which you can use at night, though each potion can only be used once. The healing potion can be used to heal the target, similar to how the doctor heals their targets. It is also the only potion you can use on yourself. You also have access to a killing potion, which can be used to kill any single target, even breaking through the protection of a guard, but failing to harm the resilient Outcast or any target that received the preacher's blessing at night. Finally, the revive potion, a powerful elixir which can be used to revive a dead player. Since you are an ally of the village, you should pick a dead player with a powerful villager role for this. Werewolves:The AlphaYou are fur and fury, teeth and claw, a mountain of muscle and the unquestioned ruler over this valley. Every living being in it bows to you, out of respect or sheer fear. Why yes, you are the Alpha, leader of the pack, the apex predator. You have earned this position by being the largest, strongest and nastiest of the pack, which you have proven in countless battles. But now, everything has changed! Humans have come to settle in your territory. How dare they? How dare they! You have gathered your pack as a result, infiltrating their weak defenses under the disguise of common humans. Just waiting for the snow to fall, you know exactly what has to be done to avoid any future attempt to ever settle in your territory again. The Alpha is the leader of the werewolf pack and their most powerful member. Each night, you can pick one target to kill. Knowing who the other werewolves are, this means that most likely, an enemy to the werewolf team will be eliminated. The Alpha is the one doing the killing, means you are at risk of being killed themselves, by the Guard, or the Veteran, or maybe the Outcast. That is the risk one has to take when being the Alpha. In return, the Alpha is the one who can single-handedly decide on whom to kill at night, with the other werewolf players merely being able to make suggestions. The HowlerAll your life, you have been envious of the Alpha. They were always larger and stronger than you, much to your chagrin. Too smart to try to overthrow them, the knowledge that you will never lead the pack has changed you, turned you into a vicious and terrifying being. And with this comes new opportunity. Your howls strike fear into the hearts of your enemies, keeping them cowered in their homes at night, unable to do anything, as the Alpha rampages freely. You might not be the leader of the pack, but with your help, you know they can win over these humans. Perhaps then will you finally be given the respect you deserve. The Howler is not a killer, not to the same degree as the Alpha at least. Instead, they pick one target each night which they can intimidate with their howling. An intimdated target will remain at home during the night, unable to pick any action for this single night. Effectively, it means you roleblock your target. The only one immune to your howling is the Outcast. On top of that, should the Scout investigate your target during this night, the loud howling they hear will make them suspicious of your target regardless of their true role. Should the Alpha die, you will lose your role as the Howler and instead become the new Alpha, the one doing the killing for the werewolf team. The StalkerYou have never been as strong as the Alpha or as fearsome as the Howler. Why, in fact you can be considered the runt of the litter, but it's not as if you take any offence to that. People overlook you. They underestimate you. And that will be their downfall. Lacking size, you always had to rely on your mind. You are cunning and crafty, able to move unseen and this will be what turns the tide for your pack, as you uncover the deepest secrets these humans wish to keep for themselvesThe Stalker is the smallest of the werewolves, but this does not make him any less important. At night, you can pick one target, whom you are going to follow this night. Doing so will reveal to you whom they visit. It will also mean you find out their role, not just one of three hints like the thief does, but their actual role. To counterbalance these two powerful abilities, your target will be informed that they feel watched at night, indicating that you stalked them. As the third member of the pack, you will be the last to become Alpha, should the first Alpha and the Howler be both dead by then. Neutral:The AvengerThis village, you couldn't care less for it. It stinks, just like its people. Humans, werewolves, why should you care? You don't get involved in that, for that is not why you are here. For months, you have hunted down your target, that one person who wronged you. If on purpose or not, it doesn't matter. They ruined your life and you want your revenge. The town can die for all you care, or they can kill the wolves, none of that matters as long as you have the chance to finally take your revenge. It is all you have left and you will stop at nothing to achieve it.The avenger is a neutral role, but more inclined to act against the village's interest. You are a vigilante, out to avenge a former injustice you suffered at the hands of a random member of the village. At the beginning of the game, you will be given a name. This is your target and your goal is to kill them at all cost. Your target will always be a confirmed member of the village, but you won't be given their exact role. You are one of the few roles without a night ability (though as long as your target lives, your sheer determination to see them dead allows you to shrug of even mortal injuries, giving you an immunity to nightly attacks), but during the day phase, you have to try and convince the other members of the village that your target is dangerous and must be executed. Most likely, this will involve lying about your role to come up with "evidence" that your target is a werewolf or the dangerous Outcast. Once you have gotten your target executed, you have won, even if you are killed afterwards. Should your target die at night though, you despair. Your new goal will be to get yourself executed during the day phase, by making yourself seem as suspicious as possible. Should you succeed at that, you will still win despite failing to execute your target. However, you will lose if you are killed at night. The AmnesiacWho... are you? You don't know. On good days, you can glimpse fragments of your past life, but they are mere impressions too little to get any certain information. What you know is, you were found near the village with a head injury, having lost all of your memories in the process. The villagers are a cold, distrustful lot, though they have nursed you back to health and now you live among them, still treated as a stranger and seen as a potential threat. If only you could remember... this could be the key to win the villagers trust... or to get back at them for the way they treated you.The Amnesiac doesn't have a nightly role, unlike most roles. At the beginning of the game, you are neutral. However, you have the unique ability to pick any role from any deceased player once during the game, by remembering that you were like them. You will then be this role for the rest of the game, with all its abilities, join the players team and share their victory conditions. You can use this to gain any role you like and join any team you prefer. Paired with the witches potion of revival, it is the only way two players can have the same role in our game. The SurvivorOnce, you were a soldier. Unlike the proud veteran though, you eventually lost your cool. Fighting battle after battle, it wore you down and eventually, you deserted, unable to take someone else's life, but similarly unwilling to risk your own. This has become the philosophy you live by. You don't mean any bad, you just want to live. And yes, you are willing to do whatever it takes and ally with whomever you must to achieve this. One thing is for certain, you will not die in this godforsaken village, not to the distrustful villagers, nor to the rampaging werewolves. The Survivor is perhaps the most simple role in the game. You have only one objective: Survive at all cost. How you do this remains up to you. You are unable to kill anyone at night, but four times during the game, you can decide to enter the hidden bunker beneath your house at night, keeping you safe on that particular night. While you are in your bunker, nobody can kill you. You win by surviving to the end of the game and no other faction needs to kill you to win, means you can win with any other player. This allows you to either remain completely neutral, support the town or even support the werewolves if you think they have a better chance at winning. You don't have to care for anyone's survival but your own, which means you can freely form or break alliances as it pleases you. The OutcastYou can still remember the feeling of being worshipped. Once, you were the Alpha. They all bowed to you, the other werewolves, yes, the entire valley. Years ago, you might have missed it, but now, you have grown beyond such regrets. The current Alpha has tricked you, has defeated you by dishonest means, even denied you the mercy of dying with honour. Instead, you were cast out, forever to roam the lands beyond the valley, to grow old and weak and to die a pathetic death. But nobody knows you never truly left. Scouting the outskirts of the valley, you have seen the Alpha growing prideful. You have witnessed how the pack allowed humans to settle in your valley. Humans! This must not be accepted. When the snow finally starts to fall, you will make your move. Human or werewolf alike, it matters not. Though old, you are stronger than each of them. Before the snow melts again, Haven will be covered in their remains. If you cannot have the valley, nobody will. The Outcast is one the most powerful role at night. You are a disgraced member of the werewolf pack, fighting solely for yourself. While you might be older than the other werewolves, you have picked up many tricks over the years. This leads you to be immune to any attempt on your life at night, with the exception of the veteran killing you if you should visit him. Every two nights, you can visit any target and you will kill them and anyone else who has visited them at this moment. Should you not want to kill anyone every second night, you will instead remain home and kill anyone who visits you. This can be both, werewolves or villagers and indeed, you must manage to kill both teams, with the only ones whom you don't have to mind being the other neutral roles. Literally a lone wolf, the Outcast is a threat to both teams.
Alright then, with this you now have an overview of the roles! I will now randomly assign a role to each of you and send you a PM, telling you about your role and whatever else you must know at the beginning of the game (for werewolves, this means that you know the other members of the team, while the Avenger will be told the name of his target). Your roles will be a secret to the public, keep that in mind. Those of you with a night ability should immediately send me a PM, telling me what they will do during the first night, then again during the second and so on. Don't discuss your nightly actions in public, as this will give away your role and please, don't consciously try to sabotage your own team by working against them. Once you all have your roles, I will announce the night phase. It will last either for twenty hours or until everyone has chosen what to do. Then, the day phase will begin and those with a day action (The Mayor, the Preacher and the Amnesiac), can take their action if they desire. Meanwhile, the entirety of the players can discuss about potentially suspicious behaviour and alleged evidence they might bring up against other players. Everyone gets one vote to nominate any other player to stand trial. The player who received the most votes will stand trial, where they get one chance to defend themselves. After that, everyone gets one vote to either lynch the player or to spare them. Once that is done, the next night phase will begin, until either the villagers, the werewolves or the Outcast has won, alongside the other neutral roles who might manage to achieve their goal. Dead villagers can still win with the whole village, just like how dead werewolves can still win with the surviving wolves. Hope that hasn't been too confusing for those playing for the first time. If there are any questions, feel always free to ask. I will assign you your roles and then we can get started

Question: we are talking with each other in private messages or there will be like a "meeting" topic, where everyone can meet and roleplay?

Another quick question - does the Outcast's ability mean that they will kill someone who is being Doctored or Guarded, as WELL as the Doctor or Guard (since they're technically visiting the victim)?

To reply to your questions both at once:
Mathea, there is a meeting topic and it is right here. Of course, you can always discuss things in private, if you sufficiently trust the other player, but during the day phases, I would like to encourage talks here in the thread. Not at night, of course, your actions there should be a secret, but if you have information to share during the day, suspicions to reveal or accusations to make, this will happen here once I announce the day phase. Almost everyone has replied to what they intend to do during this night, so the day phase will start within the next three hours.
CJ, the Outcasts ability means exactly that, yes. To balance this, the Outcast can only kill every second night unlike the Alpha, who doesn't have to take a break between the kills. The Outcast kills their victim and everyone who visits said victim on the same night. This can be protectors such as the Doctor or the Guard, investigators such as the Thief, or even other werewolves. And if the Outcast decides against attacking anyone on nights where they can kill, they instead attack anyone who visits them.

The village of Haven, Night One
Midnight...
InGenNateKenny carefully walks through the streets. Perhaps it is just a feeling, but his instincts have rarely failed him in the past. Something is going to happen tonight. Frowning as he glances at the masses of snow, he makes his way through the cutting cold...
Suddenly, a shiver runs down his neck. Clenching his fist around the silver cross in his pocket, he glances over his shoulder. He cannot see it, at least not properly, but there is something in the dark. He feels its stare upon him.
A howl cuts through the dark, loud, echoing and bloodcurdling. Freezing, not out of the cold, but out of sheer, sudden terror, InGen spins around. Frantically, he looks into the darkness. Were the old stories true after all? Sending a prayer skywards, he begins to run through the snow.
The beast makes no attempt to hide its presence. He can hear it, rushing after him, though whenever he glances over his shoulder, it is just out of sight. The church... the grounds of the church would protect him! And so, InGen runs for his life, as the beast follows after him. A second howl, just as menacing as the first. This time, it comes from his right
And then, it steps out of the dark, just a few feet in front of him. InGen does not scream, instead he merely gasps at the figure, the tall, wiry wolf-man. Black fur, long claws, a mouth filled with terrifying teeth. More demon than anything else.
For a moment, it just stares at him, before it howls once more, the same chilling tone he heard twice before. This time, so close to it, InGen sees no other option but to turn to the other side, running past two newly built houses.
A dead end... Someone had placed a cart in his way, trapping him in the alleyway. This had been planned all along, as he realized. A trap... InGen sighs, as he hears the heavy footsteps behind him. The howling beast stands there and this time, he actually spots the smaller one, stalking in the shadows. Wasting no time, he pulls out the silver cross and the Howler, ready to attack, jumps back, momentarily letting out a mixture between a whimper and a growl.
"Stand back, beasts!", he roars, the silver keeping the Howler and the Stalker at bay. "I command you, return to the depths you crawled out of! By all that is holy, you will not kill me tonight!" Lowering its head, the Howler growls and snaps at him, yet the silver actually causes it to hesitate. Meanwhile the Stalker lets out a notably more terrifying tone. It takes him a moment to realize what it is. It chuckles.
"Human...", it hisses. "This is one does not kill. It merely lured you here..." The grip around the cross tightens, as InGen narrows his eyes. "I said back!", he barked again and as he takes a step towards the Howler, the wiry beast actually jumps back, out of the silver's reach. Then, he hears it. Footsteps, heavier than either of the two wolves, coming from the other side of the cart.
"You are the lucky one", the Stalker hisses again and the howling wolf manages to regain its composure. "You won't get to see what happens to your village", it adds, its tone composed of pure hatred. Letting out another chilling howl, it ends with a bellowing chuckle. "What do you mean?", InGen barks, as he hears the deep growl just behind him. "It means...", the Alpha whispers into his ear. "That this land has never been yours. Your pack will learn this soon..."
The cross still in his hand, InGen closes his eyes. Mumbling a silent prayer, he prepares to jump around, facing the beast, ready to fight to the last...
InGenNateKenny's body is discovered once the sun rises. Judging by the state of the surrounding alleyway, he put up a fight before going down. A wild animal attacked him, or perhaps several, but what throws the people of Haven off are the footprints. Wolfish, yes, but with distinct human features. Werewolves, that is the rumour that makes its way through the village. Soon, panic grows, as the people of Haven realize, the werewolves must be among them. Having killed one villager already, they are unwilling to take any chances. The wolves are among them, so the course of action is clear. The culprits must be found and summarily executed. Only then can Haven survive.
With this, the first victim has been killed. InGenNateKenny, the Preacher, has been targeted by the wolves and, without protection, was left with no chance. The day phase has begun now. Discuss your suspicions, reveal your nightly finds if you want to, wildly accuse players and demand to know their roles if you like, but be sure to trust only those whose innocence you are truly convinced of. If you are convinced that someone is a wolf, you can cast your vote to execute them. The player with the most votes will be placed on trial in a few hours, gaining a chance to defend themselves, while the rest of the villagers can vote either to execute or to spare them. At the end of the day phase, they will be either hanged or allowed to live and the next night phase will begin. All those among you who have a day action, let me know in private if you want to take it. With this, go ahead and begin the discussion whenever you like.

Rest in pieces, InGen. Rest in pieces.
On a more serious note, does anyone have any findings they wish to share? Something that could help us avenge the poor dead preacher?

Sadly I didn't find anything useful regarding the werewolves. However, I can affirm that Lord_EAA is innocent.

Tis a shame, that the holy man would be slaughtered in such a fashion. Unfortunately, I have no leads or information at the moment.
