Blessings to the Mountain...
Hello everyone! Recently I've been playing the phenomenal Visual Novel, Raging Loop. As I'm sure many of you are aware, a Visual Novel is a reading based game with visuals to accompany it, most usually in the style of a Choose Your Own Adventure book. Raging Loop is particularly holding my attention because of the type of story it tells...
I know many of you played the Forum Werewolf game Haven here on these very forums, and I'm happy to announce Raging Loop is a similar type of story - That is, a story about a group of plucky humans trying to survive the wolves each night, their only line of defense being to lynch a wolf each day!
However, unlike Haven, I don't think I can be quite as verbose - I'm using this as more of a way to play a fun party game than to tell a story. That, and introduce the interesting ruleset Raging Loop uses. Depending on interest, I should be fine, but to get started I'm looking for at least 10 players. I'll gladly accept more, to a point, but that's the minimum I'll be running with.
With that in mind, I think I'll describe the roles that will be used for this game!
On the side of the Humans, we have:
Finally for the humans - there is a role that may or may not be included, depending on how many people we end up having for the game.
And then, last but not least, we have the opposing side, the Wolves.
The golden rule of the game is this: The Humans win when all the Wolves are dead. The Wolves win when all the Humans are dead.
If anyone has any questions about how Werewolf works, please don't hesitate to ask (and sorry if this post assumes familiarity with the type of game...). Nominate yourself to play, if you dare... or something like that!

On the side of the Humans, we have:
- The Normals: The most plentiful type of Human - so generic you could easily get away with just calling them humans. These humans have no special powers or role, and there'll surely be more than one of them.
- The Monkeys: The second-most plentiful type of Human. There are two Monkeys, and each knows the identity of the other. Who knows what that would mean strategy wise, but at least they know they have a friend!
- The Snake: Simply put, the Snake can investigate one person a night, and know by morning if that person is "Human" or a "Wolf". Additionally, there is only one Snake.
- The Spider: The Spider chooses one person per night - if the Wolves attempt to kill that person, the attempt will fail. The Spider cannot protect themselves, and additionally, there is only one Spider.
Finally for the humans - there is a role that may or may not be included, depending on how many people we end up having for the game.
- The Crow: Another incredibly vital role. They can examine the lynching victim of the day, knowing by morning if that person was "Human" or a "Wolf". Additionally, there is only one Crow.
- (If the Crow isn't included in the game - and you'll be told at the outset if they are - this duty will be performed automatically, and the town will always know the identity of the lynching victim the following day).
And then, last but not least, we have the opposing side, the Wolves.
- Depending on the number of people involved with the feast, there are 1-3 Wolves. A Wolf always knows the identity of any other Wolves.
- Every night, they may kill one person.
- Every day, they vote alongside the Humans to decide who to lynch.
The golden rule of the game is this: The Humans win when all the Wolves are dead. The Wolves win when all the Humans are dead.
