Dorne

Hey guys! I've been silent for a few months on the WN front, and even longer here, and I have life to blame for that. University, work and a relationship take its toll on my spare time, but I have no regrets about any of that. I have been doing a lot of brainstorming over a potentially new story focused beyond the Wall, and then I thought of reviving a story I wrote long ago, and then I thought of reviving a story that wasn't mine... Well I've revolved around blending all those ideas into one, and bringing it all here. More on that soon, but I'm afraid I realistically won't be writing much until the end of the semester (well into November). Apologies!
I will be splitting up the Invasion into multiple story threads based off location in Westeros, which will likely mean cross-over of PoV's and other characters and all other sorts of complications, but I will work on setting up a character list for each location as I come to it. For the meanwhile though I shall just be reposting this message onto each thread. Sorry in advance! XD

Dorne

Hmm hello all, I have decided to make some use of these threads that I long ago intended to use as the writing platforms for each location of the Invasion's vast story. Decided against that for numerous reasons, and as I cannot figure out (if even possible) how to delete these threads, I've decided to repurpose them! As this is the thread for Dorne, I would like to put a little information here about the current status of Dorne (i.e, current rulers and some info about them, maybe a map and some pics, who knows how creative this gets). Anyway, here goes.
Dorne. The southern armpit of Westeros was once the bridge of life that brought the First Men across from Essos into these fresh new lands, but after the Arm of Dorne was broken, those of the First Men who settled in these unforgiving desert lands had to show equally unforgiving traits to survive. Those who found ways to survive did so at the cost of others. Strength came from what one man could take from the next, and war was the only fruit Dorne produced on a mass scale. Those who remained founded kingdoms in their glory, amassing their claim among the blood and sand they had fought so preciously for in their small, inconsistent corners of the continent. This is Dorne as we currently know it.
The Greenblood
Of Dorne, there are four considerable rivers that offer a chance of life. The Greenblood was the first to be discovered, named for its cloudy green waters and vein-like branches, this river has seen a greater share of blood in its water than the rest. Along its waters, a dozen kingdoms erected, and at current only eight remain. Eight kings, with some more ambitious than others.
Horvis Shell. Lord of the Trove, Sandship and Blackbriar, and self-styled King of the Greenblood. His years of combat are far from over, having wiped four kingdoms along the Greenblood from existence in his time, he has recently forced the Hull's and Briar's from their kingdoms as well, making him the strongest threat along the Greenblood currently. Conquest has fuelled Horvis both in ambition and wealth, and his thirst is never quenched.
Kevan Wade. Lord of Wade's Helm. Kevan is an old man now, having focused a life on expanding his kingdom through alliances with neighbouring houses. He married his daughters to the Brownhill's and Yronwood's, and enjoys a peaceful life in his keep as a result. His son, Thomos, manages the kingdom in Kevan's neglect.
Edgar Brownhill. Lord of Brownhill. Edgar's father was one of the first kings along the Greenblood to focus on his kingdom through methods other than conquest or alliances, and instead brought great wealth to his lands through marrying Edgar to the daughter of the richest merchant along the Greenblood. Still fitting into his father's shoes, Edgar is well trained and focused, but struggles to walk the line between duty and family.
Lyonel Brook. Lord of Greenbrook. With war stirring in the east, Lyonel has taken active measures to ensure his kingdom is ready for Horvis' wrath.
Adum Lake. Lord of Drylake. Seated between the far reaches of the Greenblood in dried out lake, Adum has enjoyed a life far from the quarrels of his neighbouring kingdoms, with only the Holt's being his closest concern.
Elijah Holt. Lord of Greenholt. A cadet house of House Holt of Brimholt, Elijah's kingdom is only a few generations old, but his inheritance and poise along this fruitful river leaves him ambitious to claim greater stretches along it.
The Western Kingdoms
West of the Greenblood, kingdoms become more scarce, and folk seemingly harder as well. Six prominent kingdoms exist across this vast wasteland, one along the Brimstone, two along the Torrentine, one in the Red Mountains and two along the Northern River. Their monarchs are equally as sinister as the folk they govern.
Carmella Holt aka the Bastard Queen. Lady of Brimholt and Queen of the Brimstone. Born as one of the many bastards of King Dustin of the Barrows, Carmella found royalty when she fell in love with King Noeh Holt, however there love was short-lived with his disappearance at the Summer Isles. With no male heir, Carmella has assumed her husband's duties, though such a task is met with many hardships. We Will Hold.
Andrey Dayne. Lord of Starfall and King of the Torrentine. A diplomatic man at the core, Andrey has negotiated great wealth for his kingdom, being one of the first kingdoms of the First Men to move out of the Bronze Age prior to the coming of the Andal's. Aware of the threat the Andal's pose, Andrey has a dream of a unified Dorne to stand against them when they arrive. Dawn Brings the Light.
Hector Blackmont. King of Blackmont. A warrior king and proud of it, Hector has seen war with many in his lifetime, and expects he'll see it soon with the Andal's. Like the Dayne's, the Blackmont's have been coming into the Iron Age thanks to Hector's marriage to Ashara of Myr, introducing profitable trade routes and a tame influence over Hector's warring personality. We Conquer the Heavens.
Domeric Manwoody. Lord of Kingsgrave. An older man now, Domeric inherited a kingdom hated by many, but has proven to be a just and good king among his subjects. The disdain many have against the Manwoody's has made forging alliances difficult, however, and when an opportunity presented for Domeric to marry the sister of King Tybolt Lannister, he dared not pass it up. This alliance has brought great wealth to his kingdom, though at the cost of a heavy Lannister presence in his home, something he is beginning to regret. No King Above Me.
Rickard Fowler. Lord of Skyreach and King of Stone and Sky. A quiet and cautious man, Rickard's tenuous concerns and distancing from the other kingdoms have weakened his house significantly, a fact he either fails to acknowledge or accept. To disprove this, Rickard routinely sends skirmishing parties into the Marches, but has never managed to hold any bearing there for any greater than a few days. Let Me Soar.
Olyvar Yronwood aka the Bloodroyal. An old man with a taste for blood, Olyvar holds a thirst for vengeance after suffering a humiliating defeat at the hands of King Erich Durrandon decades ago, and intends on razing the Stormlands if its the last thing he does. Siring a large and troublesome family, what he leaves to inherit will be fought over for generations. We Guard the Way.
